Lady Gaga – Judas lyrics
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
I'm in love with Juda-as, Juda-as

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
I'm in love with Juda-as, Juda-as

Judas! Juda-a-a! Judas! Juda-a-a!
Judas! Juda-a-a! Judas! Ga-Ga! (2x)

[Verse:]
When he comes to me, I am ready
I wash his feet with my hair if he needs
Forgive him when his tongue lies through his brain
Even after three times he betrays me

Ahh ah ah ah ah Ahh ah ah ah
I'll bring him down, bring him down, down
Ahh ah ah ah ah Ahh ah ah ah
A king with no crown, king with no crown

[Chorus:]
I'm just a Holy Fool, oh baby, it's so cruel
But I'm still in love with Judas, baby
!
I'm just a Holy Fool, oh baby, it's so cruel
But I'm still in love with Judas, baby!

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
I'm in love with Juda-as, Juda-as

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
I'm in love with Juda-as, Juda-as

Judas! Juda-a-a! Judas! Juda-a-a!
Judas! Juda-a-a! Judas! Ga-Ga!

[Verse 2:]
I couldn't love a man so purely
Even prophets forgave his crooked way
I've learned love is like a brick, you can
Build a house or sink a dead body

Ahh ah ah ah ah Ah ah ah ah
I'll bring him down, bring him down, down
Ahh ah ah ah ah Ah ah ah ah
A king with no crown, king with no crown

[Chorus:]
I'm just a Holy Fool, oh baby, it's so cruel
But I'm still in love with Judas, baby
I'm just a Holy Fool, oh baby, it's so cruel
But I'm still in love with Judas, baby

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
I'm in love with Juda-as, Juda-as

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
I'm in love with Juda-as, Juda-as

(Ew)

[Bridge:]
In the most Biblical sense,
I am beyond repentance
Fame hooker, prostitute, wench; vomits her mind.
But in the cultural sense,
I just speak in future tense.
Judas, kiss me, if offensed,
Or wear A condom next time.

I wanna love you,
But something's pulling me away from you

Jesus is my Virtue
And Judas is the demon I cling to
I cling to

[Chorus:]
I'm Just a Holy Fool, oh baby, it's so cruel
But I'm still in love with Judas, baby
I'm just a Holy Fool, oh baby, it's so cruel
But I'm still in love with Judas, baby

Whoh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
I'm in love with Juda-a-as, Juda-as

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
I'm in love with Juda-as, Juda-as

Judas! Juda-a-as! Judas! Juda-a-as!
Judas! Juda-a-as! Judas! Gaga.

Romans 3: 23- look it up
Now watch the video. She isn't chasing after Judas. She isn't having s** with Judas. She's actually trying to ignore him to be with Jesus. Look at the terror on her face when she realizes she has to put the lipstick on Judas so that he can mark Jesus for death. She wants to be with Jesus and she's trying so hard to get away from the sin but she can't because she's human and she has fallen short of the glory of God, just like the verse says.
I also really love the point amberrayh made. I never noticed that before.
I am a Christian, a very devout one. I try to follow the Bible as closely as I can and the Bible makes it very clear that we are filthy in the eyes of the Lord and that we need his forgiveness. This song is about someone struggling with that idea, but not saying it isn't true.
Also, just think about how many people who otherwise never would have touched a Bible will want to see the story behind the video. I think Lady Gaga's smart enough to realize that if she didn't want people learning about Jesus, she shouldn't have made a video with so many references.

I think Lady Gaga's song Judas is about how she fell in love with a man who has betrayed her so many times yet she could still see the truth between the lies thus is the reason why her make up creates the all seeing eye or the eye of horus. But Like all Humans she was blinded by Love so she couldn't see what was really going on between Judas and Jesus. Thus Jesus was killed and in the end Lady Gaga was whipped to death because Jesus died because of the man she thought she loved.
She isn't apart of the secret organization known as the illuminatti or the illuminate the soul purpose of the group is that they want the gain a superior knowledge of God. The reason we know she isn't a part of the group is simple. The lyrics to her song. If she was part of the illuminate she wouldn't say "Jesus is my virtue" Virtue means -noun
    1.
    Moral excellence; goodness; righteousness.
    2.
Conformity of one's life and conduct to moral and ethical principles; uprightness; rectitude.

I really don't know what she is trying to say in this song, but the simple fact is everyone can come into repentance. Even Judas could have repented he chose not to. To say you are beyond repentance is voiding the work That Jesus Christ did at the cross wich was to pay the price for all of our sins. So if you are a christian and you believe in the completed work of Christ's sacrafice on the cross then you probably do feel offended at this song. It is hard to swallow when someone says that the sacrafice of christ wasn't powerfull enough or whatever they think when they say they are beyond repentance because you as a christian know that He died for all of us no matter what and that His love brings us to ask forgiveness for our sins.

This song is about her being betrayed by someone she still loves. It is about how a boyfriend cheated in her but she still loves him. I am a strong christian and all you other people claiming to be christian do not act like it at all. Bible says love the person, hate the sin. Lady gaga is no exception. She is metaphorically relating the bible to her own life anyways. I don't see how that is evil and demonic. Yes she may be crazy, but she makes good music and she is just refrencing a story from the bible. So chill out everyone.

The lyrics could mean anything the song is simple, however judas is still evil, he stands for that which is betrayal and sin against God. So. Regardless of the meaning the name judas should not be used ever. I don't understand how we as a country, nation, group of individuals can be ok with a song like that. Where is her song about jesus? God? We never hear those but a song about judas can be on top ten. Its sad guys really. If anyone agrees with me let's boycott lady gaga and not buy her stuff or listen to her music. I know I will b the first to boycott.

People are always so wierd about this kind of stuff. Its actually kind of amazing jow mislead people are. How irrational both worldly and "christian" people get when there trying to protect something that is slap in the face wrong. No I do not think lady gaga is the devil but I do think she is in a way like judas, judas was a man that was. First. Upright but was. Later corrupted as he opened himself up to satin and basically aloud the. Devil and demons to hv a field day in his mind. So all I'm saying is watch what you open yourself up to and don't be to quick to jump on either side because if you really think about what you open yourself up to eventually will affect you for life. I realize some of you are sitting there scratching your heads but don't worrie some day youll wake up fully and then. Youll understand.

First of all, it shouldn't matter whether or not someone loves Jesus. Lady Gaga clearly does, you can see it in You and I ("there's only three men that ima serve my whole life, thats my daddy and Nebraska and Jesus Christ"), you can see it in this song. What your saying is that she clearly doesn't love Jesus because she didn't write a song purely about him? So you either have to write songs about Jesus or be dubbed a satanist or an atheist? And how dare you say she should be ashamed or that her family should be ashamed? How dare you say this is blasphemes? How dare you judge her or this song at all when you haven't even taken the time to decipher any metaphors? I agree with hunkyprince101, she was born this way baby, get over it.

Okay, first off, this song has nothing to do with christianity or religion. The symbol of Jesus and Judas are exact opposites. Judas is obviously a traitor and considered "the bad guy." However, Jesus is good (duh) and sort of like the guy who is always there for her. The gy she refers to as Jesus is someone she knows she should love, but she still loves her "Judas" like guy, who may have done bad, but she still loves him. This song is all about love can go either way- either build a house or sink a dead body. Similarly, either something stable and good with Jesus, or something not stable and bad. With Judas.

The mean of the song is different for everyone because that is how music works and what makes it so wonderful. It touches people in many ways and provokes thought. As for the religious people who want to write on here how horrible it is or how much they don't like it, that's cool, that's your opinion, but there is no need to bash freedom of expression. If you don't like it, please do it to yourself and don't judge other people or criticize them for liking different music than you. You say God and Jesus are the only ones who can judge us, so let's leave it to them.

The theme of the video is a portrayal of modern-day Jerusalem. Lady Gaga plays Mary Magdalene, leading into the town where Jesus is. Beginning with the motorcycle scene, she is happy riding with the Jesus (the man with the crucifix crown [representing good/heaven.])
Then Judas(the man with black sunglasses) comes along and seduces her into the dark side.
As the dancing scene begins, she at first pushes Judas down but he keeps coming towards her. Jesus saves her (the crowd scene) and she follows him. Though from here, she tries to fight temptation and begins sinning by falling for Judas. As she points the lipstick gun towards him (the irony being that guns are usually dangerous weapons & meant to destroy, but instead only shows as harmless lipstick), she cannot bring herself to harm him/destroy her love for Judas. As a result, she sinks down in agony from distraught after smearing lipstick on his face.
The scenes then switch between her standing by the ocean waves & sitting in the tub middle of Jesus [good] & Judas[evil]. She is choosing which side she will serve. Her decision is made as she choose to cling to the leg of Jesus later on-Jesus is my virtue, but Judas is the demon I cling to. She gives herself to the good, and Jesus forgives her. But because she had sinned by giving in to Judas earlier on, she is punished as she stands in her white dress and falls to the ground being stoned to death. This suggests that just because one shows repent or remorse, doesn't mean their wrong actions won't result in consequences.
Personally I Think This Song Is Amazing & She Is Amazing. She is creative & the most inspiring woman I have ever seen. Some People hate her but, they don't even know her and how can you hate someone you don't know. I take one of Lady Gaga's Quotes which says "It's never right to hate but, always right to love"

Ok this song is amazing. But the video is supposed to be modern day Jerusalem they did it that way so that people would understand it better. Lady gaga is supposed to be Mary Magdalen and I'm guessing you can figure out who Jesus is. But what she is saying is that no matter what she will always be in love with Judas even though he betrayed them so she tries to stay away from him so that she doesn't get influenced by him to do wrong against Jesus. But no matter what he does he will be forgiven.

Just Jessica84 could you be a bigger moron? Of course this song has something to do with Jesus, the Bible or "whatever" as you so elequently state. This comment box is not about what the song means to you it's about what the lyrics mean, although anyone that thinks "whatever crap you think it's about" is not the same as "what the song means to you" shouldn't be expected to understand this. Gaga struggles with something most of us raised Catholic do: do we make choices for things we really want or are we just reacting against what the Church pushes down our throats? The last verse sums it up nicely. She clearly understands what is virtue and what one should strive for but still clings to what she likes and is satisfying now but also recognizing that may be a "demon". Give Gaga credit. She is a complicated talent. This song is not anti-Catholic but anyone that thinks it has nothing to do with religion is an idiot.

Nobody in his or her right mind will release an album of loving judas the man the betrayed Jesus watch the video there is a guy wearing the crown of throns which christ had on his way to calvary. I don't think that was respectful of her having a guy wearin the crown of thorns singing and I'm in love with judas so nt right. I love the beatins but wordings not really respectful only Lady gaga kws the meaning of her song. She is a gud artist only somtimes she over does it.

Those who would criticize love of Judas for its biblical "heresy" - I say you are wrong and you have missed Jesus message (Jesus chose Judas to be his disciple, earthling) think! Without Judas Jesus could have never died on the cross and made his sacrifice. Why not Love Judas - Jesus did - Jesus (as God Almighty in action on earth) chose Judas to perform the most difficult and forsaken mission. Yet, the message is that even you, the betrayers of god itself are loved and you shall never be forsaken by the one whose love saves all souls.

I think that just as Judas realized he had betrayed an innocent man and ended up killing himself out of regret, many people will realize & regret that although they are just supposedly "clinging to their sin", by doing so they are making a decision to reject the only one that has the power to save us from our sin! Jesus loves and has the power to save anyone from anything! Just ask Him too!

I don't think she's trying to compare herself to Jesus here so I don't consider this blasphemy (I'm Christian so I'm not talkin out my arse here). I think she's trying to compare herself to the situation. Jesus loved Judas as his friend and disciple but Judas betrayed him. Even then, Jesus forgave him and continued to love him. I think Gaga has a man who runs around on her and betrays her in every sense of the word but she continues to stay with him because she loves him. People call contemptable women Jezebels, like the Bible story, so this is Gaga calling her man Judas.

Lady Gaga is her own certain person, and when you say "She's trying to bring down religion" your stupid! She's just trying to be cool. And yes she shouldn't use God as an example. I am a christian too, but I am also a little monster. And I should not have to choose between the two of them. I love God way more that lady gaga tough! She's a Christian too you know. She just has a weird way of expressing her love for God! She needs prayer, but she doesn't need constant harrasment about who she is!

To all the people who don't like this song because of the religious meanings, I understand. However, you need to read through the lyrics again. She's obviously using the religion to reference another problem. She isn't talking about Jesus and Judas, she's using them as symbols. As to what, is up to your opinion. I've seen many say cheating, morals, etc. All together, I just want to say to make sure you understand the full meaning, and just enjoy the song! It's a good song, and shouldn't be criticized for using religion as a simple metaphor.

Well if anybody in their right mind knows anything about Science then there is no way you would believe in religion or esp the bible. The bible was written by men as a scare tactic to make others live under certain laws and it's a comfort zone for people who don't wanna live in reality. People wanna be good cause they say they will be rewarded when they die and go to heaven when people should just live their own lives and do good cause its the right thing to do. Nobody here should ever pass judgement and why woould you believe in a religion that downgrades people for who they are? If you honestly believe that a man once walked on water and turned water into wine, created the earth in 6 days then you are a complete fool who is living in denial. I choose to believe in evolution cause it's already been proven which is also why alot of churches can no longer deny it and also why believe in a religion that is responsible for soo much death and destruction and believe people who are homosexual are goin to hell and that its a disease people choose? I am 100% heterosexual cause that's what I like and how I was born and it's not a switch I can just turn off like religious rats believe g** people can do. Gaga is an amazing artist/person who gives back soo much to not only her fans but has given millions and millions to tons of charity groups and her music/art is just beautiful. Who gives a s*t what the song is about just listen and enjoy :)

Seriously, this song is demonic. She is writing about demon possession. There is only one category of being that is "beyond repentence" and that is the demonic. As she says that she loves Judas, we need to remember that Jesus was actually possessed by Satan himself. The fact that she is dressing up as Mary Magdalene in her video also represents a woman who was demon possessed. And if you want to get down to it, Lady Gaga herself is possessed by a demon too.

I think the lyrics are all about being drawn into temptation, as opposed to doing the right thing. Throughout the song, there is a definite vibe of Drug use and addiction she is referring to. Liking the "Bad Boy" drug dealing boyfriend as opposed to choosing the Law Student from Greenwich, Connecticut is about betraying her parents and being drawn into an abyss of self-loathing, stagnation and spiraling into self-Destruction.
That being said, I think the melody of the song is a masterpiece. There is some Bollywood influence here (an Italian Girl from nyc doesn't have a Pseudo Mumbai-Haitian accent. Gaga dabbles into a Techno Contemplation in the use of underlying thoughts in between verses. "A King with no crown" refers to Jesus not having saved the world yet. A crown is made of gold, whereas Christs' is of thorns, shows inferiority. The words: "wash his feet with my hair" refers to Mary Magdalene washing the feet of Christ the eve of Judas turning Christ over to the Romans; Judas criticized Mary Magdalene for using Spikenard, (an extremely expensive perfume). Judas chastized Magdalene saying "the money spent on washing Christs' feet with perfume and her tears should have been donated to the poor"! There is a reference to s**, and s** for money minus the repentance (That quintessential Carlo Dolci painting of "The Penetant Magdalene"). "Fame hooker", (Hustling Popularity and any Cost), "prostitute wench", (Selling one's body for money) "vomits her mind" (The Dumb Blonde incapable of deep conversation). The up-beat, brassy tempo is addicting, the melody a successful composition of pleasure and overall a very unique and important piece of Music.

I don't really have anything to say about the song itself since I honestly haven't even heard it yet. I'm a christian, though I'm not particularly offended by this song because I feel that Lady Gaga, more than singing about anything really, is just trying to be polemic, I was offended by the music video of Alejandro, excuse me if you disagree but I don't think anyone likes their faith to be taken as a game or joke by anybody else. Now, with this song, it's the same, except now I realize that maybe she's not even trying to be offensive (yes, she might still be taking my faith too lightly) but I think she's just trying to make headlines again. Come on, seriously? A song called Judas on Holy Week? Riiight. No, but yeah, she's just making an innocent comparisson about someone who betrayed her :) of course! -.-

A very dark and in depth song, much more twisted than, always falling in love with the wrong men, 'judas' is produced by redone and me, obviously, and it's a statement about - again I can't speak for her - but what I gather is it's about sometimes not choosing the right choice. But you can't deny that the choice is not a part of you and who you are. 'judas' is a dance song, definitely. I think 'judas' is in the traditional redone/gaga vein. It's great because it's a serious message, it's a little playful, but still serious, but still somehow you wind up dancing to it. That's what's great about her music. You know, like, my favorite songs of all time, dance songs - 'billie jean' is a story you wouldn't think of singing but then you wind up dancing and singing the lyrics. I think that's the holy grail of music for me, which is dance.
It's no surprise, I'm sure, to many of you, that judas is a man of the biblical senses, so expect to see some symbolism in this video. You have to look into what is haunting you and you need to look into forgiving yourself in order to move on. And it's really fun to dance to and sounds like it could be a pop priest record.
To the religious groups, I don't even know that there's religious [stuff in there]. I'm like, you know, jesus did have a crown of thrones, he did die for my sins. I'm a believer, so I say to them, those religious people, personally, I can't speak for gaga, but as a director, a choreographer, as a believer, I say, 'take a look at yourself. ' for me, I would never [defame] my savior and the love and the non-judgment of what jesus means to me. So I say, 'take a closer look at why you're judging. The discussions were massive, the concepts were many prior to landing on a place. They were just exciting, full of passion. It was a magical process and we're really proud of where we ended up. "i think the concept stuck with this one because ultimately there was a place where we wanted to leave the interpretation up to each individual and not take away [gaga's] power as a performer, as a dancer, as a star. And to leave the moments for you to interpret, and be inspired by the fact that everyone has a judas in their life and there is a place of deliverance. The real judas: he's everywhere, now. Don't stop until he's yours.

Lady Gaga confesses to having illuminati dreams: the devil tells me "if you want your family to be ok, then you will cut your wrist…"
Lady Gaga tells rolling stone the devil is trying to takeover and gives detail about her reoccurring illuminati dream:.
"i have this recurring dream sometimes where there's a phantom in my home and he takes me into a room, and there's a blond girl with ropes tied to all four of her limbs. And she's got my shoes on from the grammys. Go figure-pyscho. And the ropes are pulling her apart. "
But it gets even stranger. "i never see her get pulled apart, but i just watch her whimper, and then the phantom says to me, 'if you want me to stop hurting her and if you want your family to be ok, you will cut your wrist. ' and i think that he has his own, like, crazy wrist-cutting device. And he has this honey in, like, tupperware, and it looks like sweet-and-sour sauce with a lot of msg from new york. Just bizarre. And he wants me to pour the honey into the wound, and then put cream over it and a gauze. "
Gaga was confused by her dream and turned to other sources to find out its meaning. "so i looked up the dream, and i couldn't find anything about it anywhere. And my mother goes, 'isn't that an illuminati ritual? ' and i was like, 'oh, my god! '"
She even consulted her good friend and mentor deepak chopra about past dreams. "the devil's trying to take me, deepak. I'm a good girl! " she told the spiritual leader, who eased her fears.
But she admits her nightmares inspire her eccentric stage shows. "i do have morbid dreams. But i put them in the show. A lot of the work i do is an exorcism for the fans but also for myself. "
Illuminati is showing face… how long do you think it's going to take others to start confessing?

Manila, philippines -- lady gaga defied criticisms and threats from conservative christians by singing her allegedly blasphemous song "judas" on the first night of her manila concerts on monday.
Known for her outlandish costumes, lady gaga opened the show wearing a conservative filipiniana-like dress by italian designer giorgio armani.
Amid warnings by state censors, lady gaga defiantly declared, "i'm not a creature of your government, manila. "
Censors were in the audience to monitor possible violations of law against supposedly "immoral doctrines, obscene publications and exhibitions and indecent shows. "
Thousands trooped to the newly opened sm mall of asia arena on monday night to watch the flamboyant american pop singer.
Lady gaga extended her appreciation to her filipino fans and said she only wants to give her best to her followers, who call themselves "little monsters. "
"some people think that i stand for like really inappopriate things, really bad or really irresponsible," she told the audience. "listen, you don't have to boo. I'm slightly irresponsible. Let's be honest, okay? It's okay. "
"but they are not completely right. The truth is, i want the (expletive) best for you. I want the best for every single one of you. I love you with all my heart and all my soul, i really do," she said.
Several religious groups have been holding prayer vigils so that the concerts would not push through.
Calling her the "anti-christ," they criticized lady gaga for her skimpy costumes and provocative songs such as "judas," which they claim is a direct insult to jesus christ.

No one who has any regard for anything of christ would make this analogy you wish to believe this refers to regardless of any of her life circumstances. Jesus christ's name is seriously vainly used here if nothing less. If as said above she is clearly believing she just isn't capable of turning to christ and being freed and is selling out her soul. However, as someone said, god is able to save all who will repent and turn to him. However, this is wicked, and the lack of discretion to see that even of the worldly is a sad evidence of where we are. Jesus christ is returning soon. In the bible a demon possessed woman did call out repeatedly statements that appeared to be worshipful of christ and it was not so and she was rebuked.

I think people who are dissociating with this song lack a sense of understanding or are quick to judge or something. This song is great. It can refer to many things: a sinner-like we all are-who understands the goodness of Jesus (Jesus is my virtue) but keeps falling to temptation/sin (Judas is the demon I cling to). It can also refer to being in love with someone who keeps betraying you. Great tune, n haters please give Gaga a break, she's brilliant than you;-)

I think Gaga is just using her song as a medium to mock society. The line "Jesus is my virtue but Judas is the one that I cling to" is meant to show that Christians (and well members of all other religions) claim that they follow in the path of Christ with His righteousness but when in fact they are clinging to Judas and committing thousands of sins daily. I would also like to say that I love Lady Gaga and I believe her songs very inspirational and her lyrics are very thought provoking and full of different meanings. Love you Gaga!

Calling gaga names and preaching your religion is not the purpose of this comment thread. If you believe in god and dislike her music or what she says in this song keep it to yourself. Don't throw your religious prejudice at those of us who do not care and please feel free to just keep your dumbass comments to yourselves. I doubt anyone truly wants to read or be forced to sift throigh your religious prattle. And ps. It's goes against the word of the bible to sit their and judge her. Try properly following the words you preach. If you can't do that get off your high horse and accept that people love lady gaga and nothing you say can change it.

Who is this person writing direct quotes from the bible? It is really not that serious. All she is saying is that she loves jesus but she sins just like everybody else including the people calling her the devil. I see why people don't wanna get involved in religion because once someone speaks of jesus or anything religion related, you crazy believers are pulling out the bibles and all this other nonsense. Please! So not that serious. And anyway as long as you believe in your beliefs what someone else believes shouldn't bother you anyway.

If you read into this Biblically, then she's simply using Judas as a personification of her sin. She's saying that she follows and loves Jesus, but Judas is the "demon" (sin) she clings to. All humans cling to sin, we can't help it. So stop saying Gaga is the Anti-Christ, or illuminati, or satanistic, or anything like that. Do I like her? No, but I can respect and relate to this song.

Oh my gosh guys. Its called a literary allusion. How is this anything different from an author saying something like "My friend blurted out that i broke the vase. It was like a kiss from judas, for now my mom was punishing me. I couldnt believe my friend's betrayal." if any of you have ever taken an english class in your life, youd know that this song is a metaphor. I happen to be a practicing catholic, and anyone who is offended by this needs to understand how brilliant this metaphor is and how good the lyrics are. Message? Not very good. But I have respect for the artist.

The song is an analogy yes. It does use religious references to do so. Is it in poor taste? Yes, but that's what she's about. Doing stuff that's offensive. So don't watch a Gaga video or read lyrics or whatever, if you don't want to be offended.
And to the person who said to watch the video, it's not so offensive? Jesus and his apostles are a motorcycle gang, and she's having trouble with her love affair between Jesus and Judas, lmao. It's actually a bit more offensive than the lyrics.

As a Christian, and a lady gaga fan, I am extremely disappointed with this song. Her third album to be exact.
Now, I see what everyone is saying, she probably is related this story to a situation, however, it is inappropriate. It's a catchy song, but if you read into the lyrics, its offensive. 'i'll bring him down, bring him down, down, A king with no crown, king with no crown' is saying how she'll bring down Christianity. 'i'll wash his feet with my hair if he needs' a widow washed jesus's feet. 'Even after three times, he betrays me', is a reference to the three times Peter betrayed Judas. The music video - the 12 disciples as a motorcycle gang, really?
Now I can usually accept these types of things, but I just find this crosssing the line, she is just trying to get attention, copying Madonna.
Whether you are religious or not, this is a sacrilege, blasphemy, and just rude.

I'm a Christian, and have been for 34 years. I'll never understand why people hate Judas so much. Stop for a moment and think about it. It is through Judas' betrayal that Jesus was arrested and then crucified to became our savior. Honestly, shouldn't we be thanking Judas and worshiping him as much as people worship Mary? Mary brought Jesus to life, Judas brought Jesus to the cross.
On the subject of the song, I, too, think she's talking about being betrayed by someone. Like Christ forgave Judas (if Christ can forgive the man for sending him to his death, who are we to not forgive him?) - then Gaga can forgive the man who betrayed her.
As a side note, everyone thought the world was coming to an end when Madonna released "Like a Prayer". She was so blasphemous and bringing the end of religion as we know it. Please people. Use the brains God gave you. The world didn't end, and it won't end because Gaga made another crazy/beautiful video.

I can't help but feel that you are little mislead in your assumptions. I am not going to go into detail as to what things I feel are most inaccurate with your post. I will however bring up one small point.
You say "Most of you are sheep. And won't pay attention. But one of you will. I hope I reach that one."
Now, forgive me if I mispeak but I feel that it is indeed you who are the sheep. I have often heard the phrase "the Lord is my shepard." is that something you agree with? Shepards heard sheep correct?
    Thank you.

Hi, just listened to this one in the car there, first time.
It scared me, a little. I think it scares a lot of people. Some people see her and see an idiot, betraying her inner psychology. Others see a crazed demon, ready to destroy mankind's core values.
What I think is vastly humourous is that she has taken her obsessions, her fears, and put them out there. From that, she has made a success of herself.
For some people, jealousy overflows, and they berate her for whatever they see hidden within themselves. Their own obsessions, their own insanity surface.
    What do I think?
I think we all have a purpose in life, those who see and work towards their are happy and tend not to judge. Those who have failed to fulfill their's, who haven't made a "deal with a devil=come to terms with their own psyche", tend to get a little rabid.
Now, if that isn't a cosmic joke, find me one.

Hey there people, I have a relationship with god and I strongly believe that you have no right to judge lady gaga for what she sings or does. First things first do not watch it if you hate it and then you most def shldnt damn her to hell, and like I said don't judge her just don't make the same mistake as her if you feel she is making a mistake, and last you pray for her. Don't give a bad judmental name to those who love god oro ther christians! And remember just because she went to a catholic school, that means nothing its just a place to get an education! And besides no one knows what she is really talking about but her, no matter how bad it sounds. Jut refrain from listening to her songs. I mean feel abit shaky when I listen to this song but I sure don't damn her to hell that only for god to do, just change the song say a prayer and move on with your life. The song is catchy and she did a nice job, but when offended don't judge or hate just move on.

Christian or not; religon is not just based on "opinions", almost all of it is fact. Why do you think elements of Christianity is taught in history books? So before you even comment on these lyrics read up a little bit on Mathew 26; the story of Judas and how it connects to her lyrics. Judas betrayed God; therefore he was corrupted by the devil. Whether she, her producers, or any of you listeners are aware, you are helping the devil reach is goal, by feeding into this bullshit! Come on now do you think she is saying "Jesus is my virtue, but the demon is who i cling to " to make people laugh or for entertainment, be real! Are you really that blinded people?! At first her music was subliminal, but now she is outrighting saying her purpose in this industry. But I guess since she moved gradually, her music is innocent and her videos about demons mean nothing?! Lol but @ 12 year old her music is catchy so I guess that's all it takes!

I meant judas was possessed by Satan. "Seriously, this song is demonic. She is writing about demon possession. There is only one category of being that is "beyond repentence" and that is the demonic. As she says that she loves Judas, we need to remember that JUDAS was actually possessed by Satan himself. The fact that she is dressing up as Mary Magdalene in her video also represents a woman who was demon possessed. And if you want to get down to it, Lady Gaga herself IS possessed by a demon too."

Even Satan believes in Christ Jesus. If you say you are a Christian and act like you are not then you are serving two masters and The New Testament tells us that we cannot serve 2 masters. Lady Gaga can say all she want that she is a Christian but her actions say otherwise. She is not how a true Christian needs to act. We are to be examples of the believers in every deed and word for us to be true Christians.

Good points made and it is, not for us to judge anyone, for sure. In this song, there is a struggle of loving Judas (type a guy) or staying true to what we should cling to and do. The end seems like, she doesn't make it or is able to stick with Jesus and so; as scripture guides us; dies in sin, loving a mere man.

I think this shows how ignorant people are. This sort of music will really lead those who are not strong at faith astray. There is no way this video can be interpreted to be pro christian, similarly, it cannot be interpreted to be totaly anti christian. Those who only know the bible but do not know god will be confused. If you know god, then you know that there is no love in this song at all.

What is alexdesnoyers trying to say? I mean, I need to get a translator to pick up what he's putting down. And as for gaga, she needs her head checked. Even if this video is not blasphemous, I wouldn't go so far as to dance around the thought if I were sensitive at all to the crucifixion. It's just a close call, and I don't listen to the song because I'm not sure what she means. Better safe than sorry!
However, when researching gaga, she clearly doesn't have a godly look on life. She portrays evil in every way, shape, and fashion. Play some of her songs backwards and see what I mean! Satan has a purpose in her, and she yields to it, whether she meant to or not!

For me, the song uses powerful characters to metaphorically relate a story of her life, particularly the time she fell in love with a guy and got hurt eventually. Though she was given an opportunity to start a new relationship with a better guy (symbolized by "jesus") that of her past lover. There is still this emotion that she can not move on from which holds her to back to the past she spent with her "judas" or ex-partner.

In my opinion, this song only tells that every christian desires to follow jesus' teachings however, we still commit sins. Sometimes, to the extent that we can't stay away from it which equates to almost loving the sin itself. This is the reason why she said in the song, I am a holy fool -- you are really a fool if you know what you're doing is wrong but you keep doing it. Following all the teachings of jesus christ is not really easy for the general public. And not following those equates in betraying our lord jesus.

Its a confession and revelation that she is a sinner too where "jesus is her virtue" she ride at the back of jesus. And judas is the demon she cling to. Its the revelation how she fell into slavery of sin. Shes aware that she is captured by evil. And in the video ends in repentance, tears and persecution by the people who are also a sinner like her. Why help and convert her instead of persecuting her. Shes also a human loved by god and needs help.

There's something so truthful about all of lady gaga's songs. Her song about judas is metaphorical and all very human. It definitely is about her past relationship(s) where the energy was so overwhelmingly negative but also positive. Bad romance and judas were all after the demise of the relationship. Poker face and were all probably written during or after.
Judas is about how like some here have interpreted gaga's old flame and how she's still drawn to him even though it's bad for her. "i wanna love you, but something's pulling me away from you, jesus is my virtue, but judas is the one i cling to. " and that's why the chorus is, I'm just a holy fool, baby it's so cruel but I'm still in love with judas baby. " she wants and probably "loves" (whatever love is to her in this relationship) her ex and it's cruel for her and makes her a fool but she does what she wants, and it's very human. Ultimately in being love with judas it also makes her like him even if she has her virtues. Therefore the song is called judas it's about the ex but also her.

This lady is really out of her mind. Yes we have freedom to speak. That's what the independence day is for. But if you're gonna speak like this, think twice. I admit that I have sinned a lot of times. And I'm not claiming that I'm holy. But recording companies has to stop publishing this song. Its hurting all the christians that believes in what god has done and what he can do. We're not over reacting. But this really have to stop! I don't care if you're an antagonist or what. I don't even care on whoever or whatever you believe in. Just respect other religions like how they respect you. Please just respect christianity. And for you lady g, have faith my friend. He loves you no matter what. Try to pray more often.

This song of lady gaga shows us the truth that there are people who love jesus but cannot refuse to do evil doings which means they also love satan in connotation meaning but in denotation meaning of this song she is still in love with judas even if judas betrayed her. And I don't see anything bad in this song maybe the lyrics is so liberated but it's just gaga's way of expressing her music.

Judas represents the evil, wicked ways of man. If you're a hooker, a prostitute, a wrecker-any doings against morality it solidly means you're in love with judas.
But then again, deep in the recesses of a "sinner" is the ealization that he/she loves jesus, and that love is the virtue that enable a man/woman to hate judas which is a personification of sin and betrayal.
But then, even if you have the desire to love jesus, if you still do evil deeds and sin" then you still cling to and love judas.
I see no harm in the song. The people overreacts. Specially the moralist-hypocrites who pretend they are holy, yet more sinner than a murdere.

Its revelation of reality like man's disrespect and betrayal to god. Everytime we choose sin we choose to love judas. Everytime we sin we betray jesus. If god reveals himself. Evil revealing also himself. Its better that we also see evilness so that we are become aware. Everytime we made a sin we are offending jesus we are more what this video and music can express. I am really confused by this song. I can't believe lady gaga could say such evil things but yet she is such a good-hearted person and does so many good things. I really don't like this song. I'm really dissappointed in lady gaga because I love jesus because he has saved me from commiting suicide numerous times; you see, I have extreme anxiety and depression and even if I didn't I would still love jesus because he went through the worst death of anyone in history. Even though lady gaga deeply cares about people, she really should be ashamed of herself for writing such a wicked song. She cannot be a christian and write such a song.

The exact meaning of these blasphemous lyrics are more than blatantly obvious! She repeatedly sings, "judas/gaga", which is a reference to her own betrayal of jesus christ! Also she refers to judas as, "the demon that she clings too. " this clearly refers to satanism. She ends the "song" (as some would actually call it) with that to really convey this fact! She is even more so inviting her fans, "her little monsters", (as she so affectionately refers to them) to do the exact same thing as she has done with the repetitious lyrics, "i love judasas". Notice the plurality! So "gagme" is enticing her fans to be the same as her by saying even more repetitiously that she will love them if they are "judasas", or betrayers of christ and satanists too. This is taking these lyrics literally as they were written, and not trying to deny or excuse them by adding any false, symbolic references to them such as any past, "bad romance" of hers! If you are not aware, or desirous of this (as the majority of her "following" really is). Please "wake up" to the truth before it is too late!

I personally love this song for the beat and the way she does her own thing.
And I find it so funny when I read comments, proclaiming gaga to be "the anti-christ" and that she "is trying to tempt us to accept the devil". Lady gaga is singing about loving judas in this video. What woman hasn't loved a man who abused or treated her badly atleast once in her life? Women tend to naturally be attracted to "bad boys" because they seem the more masculine. But I am personally glad about that gaga can sing about religion.
Religion may be important and even help people through tough times in their life, but if religion were a person, should we make him/her king or president? Should they be set above us, and anyone who criticizes them should be executed? Wars were fought, innocent lives taken in the name of religion. Anyone who tries to question it or make jokes about it ends up verbally stoned. Is this what religion is about?

These lyrics have at least one error - the line "or wear a condom next time" is actually "or wear ear condom next time" meaning if you don't like what she has to say then don't listen. But more than that, this line more than any other is almost prophetic about the song itself, regarding the backlash it has suffered at the hands of despotic christians who act like just listening to her songs will contaminate you with some sort of infectious disease that will turn you into a satanic zombie.
I think the meaning of the song is obvious: she is conflicted with loving something that is bad for her - probably a love interest, but it could be more than that.
This song is rich with biblical symbolism (many being controversial is some way), including references to mary magdalene washing jesus' feet with her hair, jesus as king of the jews, peter's betrayal of jesus, and jesus establishing peter as the foundation of the church. Each one of those symbols seem to be contorted in some way to show how she perceives her situation and her contempt for stigma (and I would guess that includes hate filled religious dogma).
@stubbs: you're taking the repentance thing literally, and your statement contradicts the biblical teachings of jesus. Denying the holy spirit is the unforgivable sin - I. E. Having a brain, having reasonable doubt, and saying so. She is using the concept of the unforgivable sin to say she will be herself and speak her mind regardless of what anyone has to say, particularly when someone is taking an authoritarian or dogmatic stance against her. She doesn't do this just to be rebellious, but she chooses her words carefully and she actually believes she is speaking the truth. She also believes her words will be accepted truth in a future and more open minded generation: "i just speak in future tense". I believe this too!

I'm curious, what will it take for people to believe she worships the devil and that there are illuminati? If they sing it in their song's you want to find a deeper meaning, but when you listen to christian songs you judge them on face value like they have no deeper meaning. One person was right, they see the evil but choose to be blind to it and be in love with "judas"

I am a christian, I love jesus christ. And I do enjoy gaga! The lyrics say "jesus is my virtue, judas is the demon i cling to" judas loved and followed jesus up until he betrayed him. I too love and follow jesus but have my own demons I fight, and struggle with. I am not perfect, romans 3: 23, no one is. So in a way one might say we all have a little judas in us. And when gaga says she loves judas, well I think we all do. We want to do the right thing but we chose to do wrong because sinning we find temporary pleasure in and easier then doing the right thing.
    Love you lady gaga!

She's a devil worshiper? Really? Is that the best "rationality" you came up with to hate her? Cause satanism is obviously the only alternative to your beliefs and responsible for anything that shakes the delicate cage you live in.
Beyond any of that, maybe you should find out more about a person before you bash them online. Gaga grew up in a pious family and went to a parochial school, I'm sure she's well acquainted with the bible, regardless of whatever her personal beliefs, spirituality, and artistic outlets may be at this time in her life.

I don't think she literally means judas and jesus, I think she refers to "judas" meaning someone she knows she can't trust and who has hurt her in the past, and I think she refers to "jesus" as someone she knows will do her right and treat her well. She knows "jesus" is the choice that will keep her safe, but she thinks that "judas" is the choice that will make her happy.
I can't decide if I love this song because of how catchy it is, or hate it because her references are kinda. Well, I know she's supposed to be controversial, but some of the references go a little too far for my taste.

Lord have mercy on her lost soul. I believe Lady Gaga sold away her soul to the devil for fame and fortune, she knows she betrayed Jesus. The secret societies in our culture are real in the music and media and they influence us to sin and get our focus off Jesus Christ like gaga was talking about! This destruction in our generation is dragging us to Hell. This is not A game! Our souls are in the balance for an eternal heaven or eternal hell! Choose jesus not judas! I'm 18 years old and there aint nothing better than the love of A crowned king. My god jesus christ!

I am exceptionally disappointed with those who have God in their hearts and hate in their minds and mouths. Jesus loved and defended Mary (prostitute) without hesitation and yet I read evil/hatred from the minds of alledged God fearing (which is a worry) people. God is not to be feared! Judas is not to be feared, unless you have an inclination to hate and judge. " Judge not lest ye be judged ", as is written in the bible. All God's people should have better things to do than write about the semantics of words. Praise the Lord!

This song is nothing to do with christianality. The next thing you know you'll be saying the cross by within temptation and forgiven by within temptation is about jesus and god. No This song is about a woman that fell in love with a man (probably called Judas and in the video if he is the s*** man with a crown of thorns who can blame her) and he betrayed her. I'll have you know that Judas is a mans name. There are people in the world called Judas. Its a good song. I listen to it all the time. Get over yourself.

I wish everyone would take the small amount of time to realize that Gaga used the strongest metaphor possible to make a point. In this song (Judas), Jesus is depicted as the man who has always treated her right and has never done anything wrong, while Judas is another man whom she loves because he is so different than "Jesus". Everybody has had a struggle between two people; you can love both, but one pulls you in a little more. And that is what this song is about. Love. Choosing your own path and finding your own happiness in sorrow and excitement. It isn't directed toward Jesus and Judas directly. As stated above, it is the strongest way to get the message out there.
    Do you all understand now?

You guys it's lady gaga, it's fine. Maybe people are giving her a hard time, and she's stuggling, it'll be okay, maybe she's just going through a lot at the time. Or maybe she's just like that, everyone is unique, and that's her way, so what? Let her be. I still think she's cool. Jesus loves her no matter what, and I bet Judas does too, aw well, it'll be okay!

Honestly, the first time I heard this song. I thought it had a great beat, and I still think it does. But when I read the lyrics and watch the video it just confused the heck out of me. If she's saying she's out of repentance but is trying to get back to Jesus, then why is she still doing it in a slutty manner? I don't get her at all. Never liked her from the start and still don't. She should go back to being Stefani Germanotta.

People its not that serious. We all have "demons" we cling to: addiction, jealousy, insecurity, fear, avariciousness, anger, rage, money, and ahem "JUDGMENT" of others. I think its a colorful interpretation of the 12 disciples being 12 bikers. Lol at that! I think Jesus was the personification of a revolutionist and so was his posse of 12 disciples. They went against the Jewish law. Went against everything in that time. I don't think Gaga is singing about anything we don't go thru in our struggles as Christians. My brethren I refer you to: Romans 7: 15. And for all you enlightened, privileged Christians who never struggle and are part of the trinity kudos to you for being such elevated spiritual beings. Did not Jesus say "My God why have you forsaken me". I remember some time after Mother Teresa died, a collection of her letters were released that expressed her "doubts" in her faith? Later she wrote: "I accept, not in my feelings-but in my will, the Will of God- I accept His will" Maybe this artist is struggling with her beliefs or maybe she just want to ruffle some feathers either way the world will keep spinning on its axil. And God is the beginning and the end so why are we giving such power to a- s o n g?. I'm just saying :) Lets put our Christian energy into things that matter like loving your neighbor and not when they think exactly like you but when they don't, helping the hungry, listening to a lonely person, visitng the sick, helping the elderly, protecting our children from true dangers (not Gaga, lol), understanding the teenager at home instead of judging them. Brilliant artistry Gaga bc that is what music is, an art form not a new religion, lol.

Can't you see the video? It's not that offensive. Stop judging lady gaga okay?! Maybe this song has a deep meaning!? And she played the role of mary magdalene right? And she knows the story of the bible coz she is the one who wrote this song, how can she wrote this song if she don't know the bible? See! Stop judging I don't find this song that offensive. And those people who's spreading that lady gaga is illuminati, just think about it how can she be on her place right now or let's say she's so famous! Rich! And watever, besides she won't get into her place if she's an illuminati, and watch the grammy's 2011 she did the sign of the cross! So you people stop accusing her understood? I hope you get my point!

I find it interesting that many of the Christians attempting to damn Lady Gaga to hell are saying such cruel and offensive things about her, things that would I don't think God would want any of us to say to one another. If you are going to try to interpret his word, do it with kindness and understanding, and don't try to flame someone else. Any Christian should understand that much, God is love - he doesn't want you judging with hate. Do not damn someone to hell because of a song. First of all, only God can judge in the end who goes where when we all die, and secondly, when you judge that harshly it only puts you on the same level as whatever you're criticizing. I feel like I'm addressing a class of elementary school students.
Gaga is over the top, just like Madonna was in her early years. Very much overtly sexual, jaw-dropping. Trying to get a reaction because that's what sells in the music industry now, to set herself apart from others. It's a business. She is a very intelligent woman though, and if you read the lyrics with an open mind, you could tell that she is trying to relate a situation of pure betrayal to the ultimate betrayal that Jesus felt when Judas betrayed him. She is in no way glorifying Judas, in my belief. Therefore, she is not being satanic at all.
If you are all Christians, start behaving as such. If you do not like her song, just change the song and that will be the end of it. You can distance yourself from it, much like your parents or grandparents probably did when Madonna was in her heyday back in the 80's and early 90's. Madonna settled down, and eventually I believe Gaga will, too.

Let me start off by saying that I am a Christian through and through. I'm not going to call anyone a "sinner" or anything else. I believe that we are all sinners, me included. No one is any better than the guy next to him. That's why Jesus died for all.
Having said that, I think that Lady Gaga wrote this song to get attention--negative and positive. She probably realized (and/or hoped) that Christians would see the lyrics and be shocked. And. She definitely got her wish! The names of Judas and Jesus are both extremely important to the Christian faith, and any reference to these names immediately brings the betrayal and death of Christ to mind immediately. That's where all the negative posts relating to Lady Gaga and this song are coming from. It's offensive to Christians on the surface.
This is why we have to look deeper. Most of her songs have deeper meanings than what is first observed, and this one is no different. I'm not sure what it is about exactly. Something to do with cheating. But I know she is not literally referring to the Biblical story. Only metaphorically.
So, I hope I have been able to explain why some Christians get angry at these lyrics. I also hope that this can be a message to them to look a little deeper next time and tone the comments down a little. The Christian faith is about love, not about degrading anyone who doesn't have the same beliefs as oneself. So lets show a little love :)

I think the meaning of the song is that she loves Judas, but he betrayed Jesus, so since, as it says in the chorus that she is a "holy fool" something is drawing her a way from him. She said "Jesus is my virtue" but she also said "Judas is the demon I cling to" She belives in Jesus, and she is religous but is also in love with Judas. When she said she was a hooker and prostitue wench it might not mean that literally. She said "In the most biblical sense" so she might think of herself as a bad person for loving Judas instead of actually being that.

The lyrics are for sure about Jesus' point of view. I'm a Christian and I can honestly say I like this song but I don't think this song is about her love for Judas. She believes in God but is having issues because of pretty much everything she stands for. She is a prostitute, a fame w***e, and a sell out. She can totally connect with Judas. She loves Jesus just as Judas had and yet they both betrayed Him. There are plenty of people out there who love Jesus but are torn between temptation and salvation. Because like she says in Born This Way, it doesn't matter if you love him or (capital) Him, God makes no mistakes. Gaga is torn and she's showing it in this song.

Ok people. If you actually read the lyrics, she's not commenting that she likes Judas or holds onto evil. If you actually read the lyrics and understand that she is singing from Jesus' point of view. That gives you a whole different perspective. If you see those lyrics as from his point of view. Need I say more?
I'll admit she does go from the biblical sense of the story to perhaps her point. What I gather from these lyrics is she's taking a story, that is well known and telling parts of it as through his eyes.
Hope this help some of you understand the lyrics better.
It also helps if you see her doing live interviews: She's extremely intelligent, funny as all get all, and very, very, giving to people. Perhaps she wants to shake the norm, maybe she wants people to open their eyes and realize that we should all treat each-other with respect, kindness and understanding: o).

Ok well, I really did like her music before. But in all seriousness this is getting a bit
rediculous. I understand she is expressing herself. But there is a point in which things get over the top. Almost unnatural :(
And to you 'christians' please. Watch what you say about other people. I know that you can set better examples to others than that!
And to you opposing religious views. Christians are not the only ones being mean. You are too! You are always using terms like "haters" and so on. You are being haters too in that way! Duh!

K I'm sorry but some of you people who say that Christians are being mean. That's being mean, too. Those Christians, they have a point, you know. And I don't believe in evolution theories. We are created in God's image and yes, maybe monkeys are like us but hey, maybe God wasnt feeling too original when he created monkeys. Or something. Idk why ask these questions? That's why its called faith becuz we don't know but we believe. I am a Catholic and I feel strongly about my faith. But I have to admit, I like the tune of this song. But I never reall thought bout the meaning til now. Which shows that most kids these days won't really stop and think about it, okay? I'm not saying this is a good song, I'm just saying that people have different opinions and we all need to be tolerant. Like, musicandyouaremylife, I understand your feelings, but you can be tolerant of others' religions too. You're telling us to be tolerant and you're not being quite that tolerant either. So just change your words a bit, k? Not trying to be offend anyone here!

Who cares what it means! When an artist writes a song it is what they feel or how they interpret the feelings they have inside them. It is much like a diary of their most intimate details in their lives, they allow us the right to take the words and give them our own meanings. Anyone can choose how they want to interpret this song and you should that's why she put it out there for everyone to hear, but there is no need for you ignorant fools to bash her or religion, whatever religion you choose is your business so just keep you opinions to yourself. Good day.

I think this song could mean what she says about leaving darkness behind, but the first time I heard it the only thing that came to mind was her and the illuminati. It's obvious from her videos she is a puppet of theirs I feel this since she is in love with "judas" who betrayed jesus, she loves "them" because they brought her fame, money and everything she wanted but she knows it's wrong. She wants to get away from the illuminati, but she can't, she clings to them because she wants fame, she sold herself to them, but she knows it isn't right, but she will do anything for them to stay famous, despite knowing it's wrong. (when he comes to me I am ready I wash his feet with my hair if he needs) also comparing herself to mary magdeline, who she is also said to be playing in the music video. However, jesus is where she wants to go, but she can't or won't. This is just my interpretation. I could be completely wrong. Catchy song.

Seriously people this is just a song! If it were a song about devil worship (which it is not) than I am guilty for liking it and going to Hell I guess. It is about her seeing things from Marys point of view. Jesus is her virtue and Judas is one she clings to. That means she believes in God but yet is torn towards bad things (Judas) Seriously people we all cling to Judas and Jesus is our virtue. People lie, cheat, steal, break the law, commit adultery, etc and still go to church because they still believe in Jesus and God for repentence! But remember in the end Jesus forgave Judas and still loved him! That is the messaage!

I don't feel sorry for none of you people who like this sorry devil worshiping song. Nor do I feel sorry for the ones that contradict themselves by passing judgement on religion. I've seen things that I know for certain there is a God and I will just say this. You and Lady Gaga will regret this and the Illuminnati does exist as well as Freemasons. Do as you wish in life but don't disrespect my God or his people. The fight is not because of God. Its because of the Devil. Religion doesn't cause wars. People do and as for you Scientologists where did the whole universe come from then? Where did animals come from? If we came from monkeys. How come we are not still evolving? How come there's not half monkey and half humans running around? How come if we wanted to fly so bad that we didn't evolve wings or gills to swim underwater? Oh and here's something to boggle your Scientology mind. Science has proven that Jesus Christ did exist as well as the last supper. There are also a bunch of scientists that discovered the gateway to hell in the 1970s and are to this day trying to find Noah's Arc.

I am not one to keep track of when "x" or "y" will be released. I mean, I love Lady Gaga's music, but I don't follow the releases of any of her new songs. This time in particular, if it wasn't for all the complains from the christian community, I wouldn't have found out about the release of this song.
Whomever is in charge of Lady G's publicity, played them all and they all fell for it. Just like Madonna did back in the 80's with "like a prayer".
As for Lady Gaga, I hope she keeps sharing her talent with all her fans.

Okay I like lady gaga but not to the extence of a "little monster" but learn the point of the song people! This hardly has anything to do with the bible except for the names. It means that she's in love with a boyfriend who betrays her (judas) and a faithful good man (jesus). And "judas'" love is so addicting that she cant't let go of him. Even though he betrays her. Hence the line "even 3 times he betrays me".

I can understand Lady Gaga building her career on shock value of her mediocre productions. What I don't understand is why was it allowed on air. The text of the song and the video are offensive to Christianity because they ridicule what many people hold Sacred. I'm a very open-minded Christian, but the video is blasphemous to me. Now would the authorities allow to ridicule Islamic values in the open like that? I doubt it. I think tolerance is a good thing but indiscriminate tolerance definitely not, and a line in the sand should be drawn.

We all can interpret the lyrics different. Lets think about these words "I'm in love with Juda-as, Juda-as" and "And Judas is the demon I cling to (cling to)
I cling to". Jet she can't love a man so purely. How is that. She feels sorry for Judas but calls Jesus a fool. I don't understand how in the video she is trying to make us to believe that she is with God but at the same time she is saying she is in love to the demon. In the bible God says. That the people that are not with him are against him. I don't like this song at all.

To the "religious" gaga haters. Check your selves very closely. It may be you who are the ones being manipulated by the devil! Why all the swearing, name calling and threats? Is that really what god really expects from his believers and faithful? I really don't think so. You kind of make god seem like he's a biker, or truck driver or drunken sailor. Clean up your act a little before judgement day or you might find yourself in a hot nasty smelling place you wouldn't be too happy with.
You sort of sound like the pious fools who wanted to kill Galileo because he speculated the Earth was not the center of the universe as most everyone thought, and which was taught in their bible, but that the Earth revolved around the sun. For his statements, Galileo was formally charged as a heretic. These were nasty charges, as one guy in 1600 found out when he also claimed the Earth revolved around the sun, and was burnt for his beliefs. Galileo wasn't burnt at the stake, but he was brought to trial and jailed for a time. 16 years later he was found innocent of heresy and told not to teach his theory. Eventually he wrote a book about his theories and was arrested again and threatened with torture if he didn't tell the public his ideas were wrong. Soon after this he became very ill and died. It took about 200 years for the church to finally accept he was right about everything, by then pretty much everyone understood that the Earth was not the center of the universe. They had either misinterpreted the bible, or the bible was wrong. Anyway. Don't be a hater. You're in very evil and stupid company.

It's funny how people spout off at the mouth about reading so lame best seller (The Bible) that's a bunch of old-timey stories on how to live your life. Back then anyways. Getting to my point - Lady Gaga is alive - and here to sing her gospel and I praise her as the saint she is. Lol I wont even get started on the lack of Christianity oozing in some of the hateful messages I've read here. Lady Gaga's not attacking Catholicism or the Bible or going around singing the merits of devil worship. She's simply taking a point of view of a sinner clinging to a personified 'Judas' -- it's just her using mythology as a metaphor for a bad, self-destructive relationship. In a way, that means she's praising God.
Some of you really need to lighten up with the preaching. Too much doom and gloom in here for people who just want to read the lyrics!
Ps: I believe in Zeus as the one true god. Jesus is a myth.

Mark states that the chief priests were looking for a sly way to arrest Jesus. They decided not to do so during the feast since they were afraid that people would riot; instead, they chose the night before the feast to arrest him. In the Gospel of Luke, Satan enters Judas at this time.[11].
According to the account in the Gospel of John, Judas carried the disciples' money bag.[12] He betrayed Jesus for a bribe of "thirty pieces of silver"[13] by identifying him with a kiss — "the kiss of Judas" — to arresting soldiers of the High Priest Caiaphas, who then turned Jesus over to Pontius Pilate's soldiers.
This is a terrible song and she is now a part of the illuminate, devil worshipers! She in love with the man that betrayed Jesus. She is clearly stating that she should be with Jesus but the demon is what she is clinging to. She needs help. Lord wash away her sins and help her come back to you.

This song was disappointing to me. I'm a christian and I do not agree with this messege at all. There are so many ways we can look at the way this song was written and come up with a whole bunch of reasons as to why she wrote this song and the meaning. But the meaning is pretty clear. We all know what she's saying. Either way if you try to change the meaning to make it sound good its not! I mean even if she's talking about a boy that she loves that betrayed her it was not a good analogy to use Jesus in that way.

Yes why does she always attack christain and then put jesus in there one time to please christian? Why not muslim budda? Lady Gaga I must ask you personal why don't you bring down other faith? Maybe you are afraid of the upriase of those people or is it just easier to bash the one person who can and have save the world from its self and by the way the bible never ever speaks of Mary Magdalene being a hooker she was full of demons and by the way Lady if you don't want demons then get saved. Also, Yes Jesus loves everyone, but living any kinda unholy way is not acceptable. If you can live unholy, then why do you have to repent and Judis was so ashamed that he ended his life because he set Jesus up? One more thing how can anyone even if they don't believe have so much distaste for a man who loves everyone even when their own family don't and Lady Gaga do you think that if you were to sing songs about being and living holy your fans and I dare not call a fellow human being monsters would they surport you? Start sing about Gods pure love for people and leave things unholy down you would not have those fans they would drop you fast. They would not be loyal to you that's the whole truth.

You people seriously need to review this song "off your like or love list". Its utterly blasphemous and would ruin your relationship with the most High. "I've learned love is like a brick," she is very much equating or saying the stone heartedness of the heart in referrence to Love, while Love is not a brick, its quite beautyful and even more simple and softer than that. And who do you think the "HHoly fool" she refers to, cause Judas wasnt holy, the bible clearly refers that he did indeed show acts of sin before the crucification as he did steal, that's why Jesus showed much Love to him(But I'm still in love with Judas). And what Holyness means is having a system of Works or Action on the Word of God that resembles that of the most High, and not only living without sin. Cause Adam was holy even before sin entered into the world. Read your bibles. That song is totaly antichrist, whether you ignorantly and arrogantly don't want to accept it even though you see the truth or you are under bondage. May Jesus deliver you from such heathenism.

I really do not know for sure what this song means. She says Jesus is her virtue yet she clings onto Judas. We all try to do what's right but we fall into temptation. Our flesh betrays us sometimes. I think she is trying to ray that we all are at fault but forgiveness is open for all human beings no matter how ungodly or sinful you think you are. However, we should consinstently try to cling to Jesus and not to Judas.

@Nikkibaba But she's actually not normal. Have you even seen the things she wears and what she looks like? I take it you haven't, cause she is far from the definition of normal which is 'conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural'.
And I think she is none of those. Honestly, just take another look at her. What other girl on this planet looks like her? Oh wait, no one.

I agree, it's nothing to do with Jesus or the bible, or whatever. This comment box is for what this song means to you. Not whatever crap you think it's about. I'm Catholic, but you don't see me raving about the bible. People hardly ever set out to write a song about a particular subject, they just want to write a nice, new song. Lady Gaga should not of ever sang a song like this. God is looking down on her with pitty. I'm calling all the radio stations I know of that play this song to complain and to tell them that young teens like myself hear this music and if they only knew what was going through their minds. Music like this makes the world the way it is. It sickens me. She can be forgiven, so I wish she would stop posting things like this out to the world. And also, the world stop letting things like this get out into our worlds mind. Thanks -Kg, Arkansas.

The betrayal that she's portraying here is the betrayal of Mary Magdalene. She was one of Jesus' foremost apostles but instead has been portrayed as a prostitue and not very important character in Jesus' story. Hence the symbolism in the video of the wave crashing on her and the line "Ive learned love is like a brick/you can build a house or sink a dead body." In the video when she sings this line she first pats Peter on the shoulder (Peter is the "rock" that the house of the "Church" was built on) then gestures towards herself, Mary Magdalene, an influential woman that was sunk in history. Religions are made by man, not god. I love this video/song for bringing up these issues of history, destiny, forgiveness, and the roles/status of women in ancient history and the present.

This song in my opinion is a lot stronger than Born This Way. The message behind born this way was great but the song as a whole was just eh. Why do people need to be offended by this song? She's clearly stated that her family is Christian. She's just a normal Italian girl from the city who happens to wear obscene outfits and writes a song about Judas. She's not saying she loves Judas the man who betrayed Jesus. But she is making a reference to what he's done and comparing it to real life. Haven't we all fallen in love with someone who betrayed us and forgave them just like Judas? If I remember correctly Jesus didn't hate judas when judas handed him over to the guards. Jesus still loved him. People need to stop reading too much into the lyrics. If she sang this song differently and named the song bob and sang "I'm in love with bob" instead of Judas, people would hate her song as well. Can never please anyone.

Awesome job, Lady Gaga. Way to disrespect an entire religion, days before its most important holy day, in order to stir up controversy and increase your own fame. Please feel free to continue this song theme, because your darling little monsters will happily gobble up whatever techno beat you pull out of your nether regions. Might I suggest an affair with Bhudda next, maybe Mohammed? Just as long as it has a deeper meaning about freedom and things, we'll lap it up.

Lady Gaga herself worships Satan. Now, Lady Gaga uses her songs in bringing youths to hell, to where Satan belongs! Lyrics matters too. You use songs to tell anyone what's inside your heart. This has only one meaning that will summarize everything: satan is in her heart, not god.
But I still believe that God can change her someday because it is said in the Bible the "WHATEVER IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR MEN WILL BE POSSIBLE FOR GOD." C'mon!
