Korn – Narcissistic Cannibal lyrics
Don't want to be sly and defile you
Desecrate my mind and rely on you
I just want to break this crown

But it's hard when I'm so rundown and

You're so cynical
Narcissistic cannibal
Got to bring myself back from the dead

Sometimes I hate
The life I made
Everything is wrong every time
Pushing on, I can't escape
Everything that comes my way
Haunting me taking it's sweet time
Holding on, I'm lost in a haze
Fighting life 'til the end of my days

Don't want to be rude, but I have to
Nothing's good about the hell you put my through
I just need to look around
See the light that has come unbound

You're so cynical
Narcissistic cannibal
Got to bring myself back from the dead

Sometimes I hate
The life I made
Everything is wrong every time
Pushing on, I can't escape
Everything that comes my way
Haunting me taking it's sweet time

Sometimes I hate
The life I made
Everything's wrong every time
Pushing on, I can't escape
Everything that comes my way
Haunting me taking it's sweet time
Holding on, I'm lost in a haze
Fighting life 'til the end of my days
Holding on, I'm lost in a haze
Fighting life 'til the end of my days

Guy is in a relationship with a girl so full of herself its exhausting and killing him a piece at a time. He regrets being with her and feels stuck. Basically she has messed with his mind and he can't think straight so getting out is hard. He says he wants to break "this crown" that would be her narcissistic nature. She thinks she is awesome and he is nothing and it has him so rundown that he doesn't know how to take care of himself anymore. . That's what I think anyway lol.

My theory is it's talking about it's fan base.
At the time korn was going through a change in style.
We asked them to return to their roots and they did.
Although they did go back to their original roots, and make a great record, it was also their most unpopular album thus the lyrics "some times i hate the life i made, every thing is wrong every time" suggests that no matter eat they do fans don't approve of it.

My perception: religion, social norm, morallity etc. Shoved down our throughts from birth - we all wear masks or a 'crown' and burn inside to break free and reveal our true selves. We dare not as it is already such a struggle keeping face as it is and a lot of energy is wasted on the false perception we portrait on the outside. We dislike ourselves and the lives we built because inevitably it is a big fat lie and the design was never our own. The fight inside resulting in us just surviving life. We do not dare come to our own as we will surely be judged. All that feels so right within we have long forsaken and we are haunted through that which we allowed to rule us.

An individual that feels alone in this world. The someone, the "you" in the song, someone they felt they could rely on, becomes the person they resent for being so awful by criticizing every move they made. The individual doesn't wan to put people off, or look like the bad guy, but as their life goes on, they realize the mistakes they made, and know they need to do what they have to fix it. As they try to right their wrongs, they are haunted, fighting through the muck of despair and self guilt. This song in a nut shell is something we all can relate to at some point in out lives.

Dude, its about the illuminati. Narcisstic cannibals, ones who are greedy and full of themselves, destroying and controlling their own kind. The music industry used him (like they do all artists) as a tool against the people, hes trying to "break his crown' he no longer wants to be 'sly and defiling' to his audience. If you read about musical artists, the music industry really is hell for them. Resist!

These lyrics were derived from the "hate" emotion. I brainstormed them in an attempt to be creative, while I was in an agitated mood, or state of mind. I did my own singing presentation, along with a few changes to ensure the vocabulary and grammar would sound the best it could. Another focus was to closely relate the lyrics, to the composing artists, the music genre, and inevitably the fans. There are no wrong interpretations to the meaning of the lyrics, as long as the meaning is also derived from the hate emotion.

He is referring to himself in the third person when he says 'narcissistic cannibal. ' it is as if he is viewing his life as it is now from a future (or past) position and is displeased with the person he sees that he is/has become. He is holding on to this life that has caused him to become so cynical and narcissistic, fighting with it. Yet, he also realizes that he must push through and see the light that he has brought into the world or that still exists in the world.

I absolutely f*****g dare you to tell me this means anything at all. Illuminati guy's idea was close to rational, but why would they rail against the music industry in a song they did with the flavor of the minute? (skrillex).
Doesn't it seem counterproductive to beg for release from the shackles of fame during the song that is supposed to help your band clutch on to the remaining shreds of attention they have left after the masses moved on from their brand of radio-edit "rage"? Not like "yall want a single" ended up a single or anything. (it did).

Well the definition of narcissism is excessive or erotic interest in oneself and one's physical appearance. So obviously there is some problem of some sort with a person he knows who is like this. It doesn't give a lot of meaning as to who so it could very well b any body himself included. He goes into how he hates the life he made and he can't escape every problem. I believe he refers to himself as the "narcissistic cannibal" bc he says "dessacrate my mind and rely on you/i just want to break this crown/but its hard when im so rundown" I think he is saying that he knows that he is and knows he should stop but he has been like this for soo long and he enjoys it and he is so rundown that he can't seem to find a reason to stop. Idk that's what I've gotten from this song. Weather I'm right or wrong remains to be seen lol.
