Jefferson Airplane – Go Ask Alice lyrics
One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all

Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall
And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall

Tell them a hookah-Smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Alice when she was just small
When the men on the chess board get up and tell you where to go

And you just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving slow
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know

When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the white knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's lost her head
Remember what the dormouse said

Feed your head
Feed your head

It’s about getting and education, doing drugs to experience alternate realities and challenging social constructs placed on everyone by popular culture as in storybooks, especially for women. Hear Grace Slick talk about it herself and read about it. Educate yourself lol!

This song may seem like it is about drugs as it refers to several different kinds (ie pill, smoking, mushrooms), but it's actually something deeper. The song is about the war in Vietnam and the draft. The pill part is referring to the choice between protesting and being drafted. Being big or insignificant. Men on the chessboard is, of course, is the military. Logic and proportion have fallen sloppy dead refers to the mass killing in Vietnam. Red queen's off with her head is the leaders sending people off to their deaths. Talking backwards is them nothing making any sense. Remember what the dormouse said IS actually the line and it refers to the mad hatter trying to remember what the dormouse said to get off the witness stand, but he can't and runs before the Red Queen can chop his head off. He didn't say "Feed your head". It means to learn. Educate yourself. The song is telling people to dodge the draft with symbolism as they couldn't just clearly say it back then. Go into the army into Vietnam and you're going to die.

I do not think it is dormouse or door knob in the Go Ask Alice verse. It has always sounded like dolmon, or dolman or dolmen in song. This paragraph explains why! The trade mark for Megalith Age is the dolmen. Many dolmens look much like a god-table. Maybe it was the idea of "Table for deities" since we see the growing virtual world in the sky. The gods were giants and humankind was the "legs for deities". Have a look at Orion or the Bearwatcher and you see the real giants. The dolmen would be a suitable table for the New Moon mare as they called her less than two thousand years ago. In Sumer Inanna sat at the god-table in face of Leo. That must be around midsummer after the harvest so she got fresh beer.
