Jack Stauber – Buttercup lyrics
[Verse 1]
Forget it, I'll do it sometime, ooh
I'm locked up on the button
Can't you do it sometime?
Pushed it in too far, oh
!

Fine, electrify mine, oh
Electrify my golden tooth
Can't look at your eyes
Without sparking some...

[Chorus]
Electrify my heart
Electrify my heart

[Verse 2]
Surprise, I'm in the same time
Beneath the same sun (Oh, yeah)
Oh man you cut me to size (Ow!)
My little buttercup (That hurt!)

Fine, electrify mine
Electrify my golden tooth
Can't look at those eyes
Without sparking some
...

[Chorus]
Electrify my heart
Electrify my heart

Electrify my heart
Electrify my heart

[Outro]

What I think about the song based on the music video is that a man seems to have a feelings for a woman. When he first saw how the woman smash the other guys chest. He also wanted to feel that, he's desperate to feel the woman's hands. It appears he's in love with that woman even she's aggressive. On the latter part of the music video, the man is fantasizing of beautiful things with that woman but in reality the woman is just there to hurt him physically/emotionally. Cause he think that it is how that woman show his love to him, by hurting him. But in fact, the woman enjoys hurting him or smashing his heart on the floor.
But in the end, he decided to avoid the woman's ultimate attack. This would tell us that he just learn that those are all fantasy. He finally learned his lesson about loving a person. That a true loving person will never hurt you nor ever get amused playing with other's affection.

"Forget it, I'll do it sometime. I'm locked up on the button"
The button is a metaphor for the dopamine response that incited by pleasurable experiences. Hes locked up on the button, many people just chase the dopamine whether it be love, drugs, sex or food. When you push it to far it means you've exhausted the reuptake of that neurotransmitter. Fine electrify my golden tooth. Golden teeth are associated with freedom from slavery, an arise to affluence. He wants to electrify his sense of freedom. This part the song still get me, I believe its esoteric meaning might be eluding me. He cant look at her eyes without sparks, alas just go the whole way and electrify my heart.
Surprise were in the same time beneath the same sun.
I love this lyric so much.
Imagine this, we're in the future. Everybody has time travel along with the most badass space ships, in my imagination temporal space cars. You just landed on a distant planet, in a far off solar system. You begin to get lost in a crowd, and you just so happen to catch a glimpse of your ex. Your stomach drops, with the oh so visceral, pit in my stomach feeling. Of all places, in all the times, they just happen to be here, now. This song exhibits unbridled futurism. That's why I'm so in love with it. And theres something about that feeling that just levels you, really cuts you down to size.
Electrify my freedom, and if I cant break free from you, please electrify my heart. Nothing about being electrified is comfortable, and neither is being lost in the thicket of unrequited love. Electrocution is jarring and all consuming, you cant think about anything else while you're being electrified, and he wants to electrify his heart.
Truly a musical masterpiece, way beyond its time.

The song title Buttercup I think conveys the same meaning as the song "Build me up buttercup" A guy trying to work things out in relationship but to find himself being let down and disappointed, but since he cannot leave her little poison, "fine, electrify mine, electrify my golden tooth (maybe stands for something precious, I. E.: self, life). His way of taking on the challenge.

PHGuy, you realize that that video, which I'm assuming you're referring to the music video wrestling montage YouTuber "lisuga" made, is not the official video? The pinned comment is by lisuga, where s/he says that "I really do hope this little project of mine won't stop Jack Stauber from making his own original video for Buttercup, if he had planned to do so in the first place." The music video you're (probably) referring to is not necessarily Stauber's interpretation of the song. Your interpretation of the music video is stellar, but is not necessarily canon with the song.

It seems maybe it represents a crush and the first time seeing them. This can be explained, especially with the lyrics electrify my heart, as a jolt you feel when you fall in love. And the cluster of 5 lines in verse 2 can also explain this, bacause you can tell him or her your feelings for them. Or the protagonist is in the hospital, also can be represented with electrify my heart. I can explain the first 5 lines as well. It represents youre probable first crush and you accidentally screwed the relationship up. I beleive this is the meaning of the entirety of the song. But electrify my golden tooth doesnt really fit into the meaning of the song.

It's about going to the dentist. I'll do it sometime... avoiding the dentist. Electrify my golden tooth, says it all really. Electrify my heart is that he hates the dentist he is scared , really bad, the nerves are Electricity running through his veins from his heart. He is forced to look into the dentist eyes as he drills his teeth down to size.earlier he tried to fix his teeth himself but he pushed it far and its fallen out and needs replacing with... you guest it a golden tooth!

I think the song is about having a lover already and lover her dearly. “Electrify my heart” standing for love, clearly. “Cant look at you eye, without sparking some” meaning every time he looks at her, he wants to spark champagne (I think). That’s all I got for ya. :)

I see a lot of interpretive lyrics on here. It's kind of fun seeing how music makes people feel, but more importantly how their interpretation sort of sculpts something of an insight into their psyche.

I've always been a fan of interpretation, and I've never really submitted anything to one of these kinds of sites, so here we go.

Crack. This song is about smoking crack.

so what I got from this song is that it fucking sucks and I can't believe that anyone likes this shit. The meaning behind it for me personally is that it fucking sucks. It's terrible, it's one of the worst songs ever fucking made and he needs to fix his fucking accent, literally no one sings like this unless youre like 80% irish and like 20% ethiopian. like hes literally a normal fucking white dude Moine Moine Moine Foine Moine Toime Moine Foime Fix your English Please for the Love of Godi9jp wafer0 y978ew45gtr o8yg7tw450y897W
