Sub Urban – Cradles lyrics
[Verse 1]
I live inside my own world of make-believe
Kids screaming in their cradles, profanities
I see the world through eyes covered in ink and bleach
Cross out the ones who heard my cries and watched me weep

[Chorus]
I love everything
Fire's spreading all around my room

My world’s so bright
It's hard to breathe but that's alright
Hush
Shh

[Verse 2]
Tape my eyes open to force reality (Oh no, no)
Why can’t you just let me eat my weight in glee?
I live inside my own world of make-believe
Kids screaming in their cradles, profanities
Some days I feel skinnier than all the other days
Sometimes I can't tell if my body belongs to me

[Chorus]
I love everything
Fire's spreading all around my room
My world's so bright
It's hard to breathe but that's alright
Hush
Shh

[Verse 3]
I wanna taste your content
Hold your breath and feel the tension
Devils hide behind redemption
Honesty is a one-way gate to hell
I wanna taste consumption
Breathe faster to waste oxygen
Hear the children sing aloud
It's music 'til the wick burns out
Hush

[Outro]
Just wanna be care free lately, yeah
Just kicking up daisies
Got one too many quarters in my pockets
Count ’em like the four leaf clovers in my locket
Untied laces, yeah
Just tripping on daydreams
Got dirty little lullabies playing on repeat
Might as well just rot around the nursery and count sheep

This is really good! I feel like I relate to it kinda?? I don't know, maybe cause of depression I have. But I think it's about like.. The innocence of childhood and the horrors of adulthood, while being a dark nursery rhyme. To be honest I think my OC/Persona Scares could relate to it. Also, this is the description of my persona If anyone was wondering: He/him, Macaw, cockatiel, white enderman & voidling, red small wings on the sides of head, large green wings with dark yellow, red hair, red cockatiels feather crown/crest, peach skin, green white enderman eyes, a dark voidlings tail, & 1 light voidling horn, light brown cloak-like explorers coat, red pants, reddish yellow belt, dark yellow long-sleeved shirt, blue scarf pulled over mouth & nose, brown boots, 6'1" also about maybe 19-24 years old. But anyways back to the song - the song is cool, it's stuck in my head, and I like how its a dark nursery rhyme but also a song and its very addicting to listen to. I'm currently singing it now. And there's some weird lyrics tho like "I wanna taste your content" does anyone know what that means? And "I live inside my own world of make-believe" is relateable too bust not, because the world is a harsh place, so sometimes we just put ourselves in our own world. And "Sometimes I can't tell if my body belongs to me" is relatable cause we question if we are a person with free will or if we are controlled or something anyways, good song, just wanted to post that! I can be found on scratch.mit.edu with the WyldFyre_Wolf username if anybody wants to talk or answer my questions. Byeee, Wyld out!
