Rachie – My R lyrics
Just as I was about to take my shoes off
On the rooftop there I see
A girl with braided hair here before me
Despite myself, I go and scream
Hey, don’t do it please
!

Whoa, wait a minute what did I just say?
I couldn’t care less either way
To be honest, I was somewhat pissed
This was an opportunity missed

The girl with braided hair told me her woes
You’ve probably heard it all before
I really thought that he might be the one
But then he told me he was done

[Chorus]
For God’s sake please! Are you serious? I just can’t believe
That for some stupid reason you got here before me
Are you upset cause you can’t have what you wanted?
You’re lucky that you’ve never gotten robbed of anything!

I’m feeling better thank you for listening
The girl with braided hair then disappeared

Alright, today’s the day! Or so I thought
Just as I took both of my shoes off
There was but a girl short as can be
Despite myself, I go and scream
The petite girl told me her woes
You’ve probably heard it all before
Everyone ignores me, everyone steals
I don’t fit in with anyone here

[Chorus]
For God’s sake please! Are you serious? I just can’t believe
That for some stupid reason you got here before me

Cause even so, you’re still loved everyone at home
There’s always dinner waiting on the table, you know
!
I’m hungry, said the girl as she shed a tear
The girl short as can be then disappeared

[Bridge]
And like that, there was someone everyday
I listened to their tale
I made them turn away
And yet there was no one who
Would do this for me, no way I could
Let out all this pain

For the very first time, there I see
Someone with the same pains as me
Having done this time and time again
She wore a yellow cardigan
I just wanna stop the scars that grow
Ev-e-ry-time that I go home
That’s why I came up here instead
That’s what the girl in the cardigan said

Whoa, wait a minute what did I just say?
I couldn’t care less either way
But in the moment I just screamed
Something that I could not believe
Hey, don’t do it please!

Ah what to do?
I can’t stop this girl, oh this is new
For once I think I’ve bitten off more than I can chew
But even so please just go away so I can’t see
Your pitiful expression is just too much for me!
I guess today is just not my day
She looked away from me and then she disappeared
There’s no one here today, I guess it’s time
It’s just me myself and I

There’s no one who can interfere
No one to get in my way here
Taking off my yellow cardigan
Watching my braids all come undone
This petite girl, short as can be
Is gonna jump now and be free

I honestly think its about a girl who is debating whether she should commit sucide or not she tries to convince her self not to by finding a reason not to "You’re lucky that you’ve never gotten robbed of anything!" then she finds that "Everyone ignores me, everyone steals
I don’t fit in with anyone here"
so then she tries to think about her home "Cause even so, you’re still loved everyone at home
There’s always dinner waiting on the table, you know! but "I just wanna stop the scars that grow
Ev-e-ry-time that I go home" when she tries to find something to latch on she doesn't find anything
she pities herself because she wants to end it but she searches for excuses
    that's what i believe

This song has multiple meanings to it, it has been a song I hear when I'm not at my best, knowing that someone can stop others from making a permanent choice, it makes me feel somewhat safe, I truly do feel bad for her because she had been through so much, seeing people almost at their end but helped them, yet she felt alone because she thought what nobody would really care if she did end it, this song will make me cry because the lyrics have many emotions sent, it can be a comforting song, sad song, almost anything and it still means so much, she said that the girl in the yellow cardigan, she had probably been abused, knowing that the girl in the yellow cardigan, had said "I just want to stop the grow E-ve-ry time that I go home." although I'm not so sure, It makes me feel like she was talking to each of her emotions, Yellow cardigan, The girl with the braided hair and the petite girl, as the last lyrics are, "There’s no one who can interfere No one to get in my way here Taking off my yellow cardigan Watching my braids all come undone This petite girl, short as can be Is gonna jump now and be free." are a meaning that either 1 she had taken something in each of their memory if they did jump or keep something that was the same as who she saw for the first 3 days, or two she was talking to different versions of herself trying to help herself.

Don't make yourself end everything because you have so much to see and do, if you need help please seek some.

I think it means that a girl is going slowly of her life and the events that happened to make her want to jump and every "person" is just another personality she had in life like " I really thought he might be the one but then he said he was done" which is a breakup that after she thought to jump, but latched on to the idea of her family which ", you’re still loved everyone at home
There’s always dinner waiting on the table, you know" and "Everyone ignores me, everyone steals
I don’t fit in with anyone here" maybe the breakup made her less popular cause you know school kinda sucks then her family changes and know probably abuses her and represents "I just wanna stop the scars that grow
Ev-e-ry-time that I go home" which her being abused and with all the traumatic thing happening to her she doesn't want to know what will happen next so she ends her life by jumping you also might think what about the brided hair petite and short as can be plus yellow cardigan braided hair might refer to the main hairstyle in her relationship and short as can be might be a family trait she has in the verse about her family and yellow cardigan to hide the scars she gets from getting abused at home

I must admit I’m surprised to learn this song’s meaning is about a girl trying to stop herself from jumping. On the internet, mainly around YouTube, it is portrayed as a girl trying to stop others from jumping for stupid reasons. However it goes so much deeper because this girl is constantly fighting an internal battle with herself. Whenever I feel depressed I listen to this song and I know it’s not just words, they’re actual thoughts that so many people go through. It’s important to realize that while suicide can give an escape, it also traps you, it shuts you away from everyone even if there’s no one there to stop you. I must apologize, I believe I’m straying further away from the actual song. Bottom line, this song is a reminder, please reconsider if anyone reading my comment has suicidal thoughts, I trust you’ll find a reason not to give up just like I found my reason.

I think this is a lot of complex, contradictory opinions that she’s having. It’s like she’s trying to stop herself, but also wishes she could forget everything. But no matter what she does it all comes back to her, alone, and wanting to jump. And also maybe a bit of it is her trying to discover who she is. Like when she says, “for the very first time there I see, someone with the same pains as me,” it’s almost as if she couldn’t admit that the other people were her. Like she wouldn’t give in, but finally she stopped trying.

This is just my theory, I also agree with a lot that’s been said. Also if you are having suicidal thoughts, seek help. People are here for you.

I have a theory about his song, I feel as if she is singing to herself. This shows as towards the end of the song you can her state ¨There's no one here today,
I guess it's time It's just me myself and I
There is no one who can interfere
No one to get in my way here
    Taking off my yellow cardigan
Watching my braids all come undone
This petite girl, short as can be
Is gonna jump now and be free¨
    Which I believe means that she has run out of reasons to stay alive. We never hear that the other girls gave her these objects, in conclusion, she might have been singing about herself. We also know that she jumps at the end. That is my honest theory, it still may be choppy but that is what I believe this song's deep, dark meaning is.     this song makes me sad that she jumped of at the very end ,but yes she has been through a lot.sometimes when I listened to it I thought that somehow all of those people jumping off were versions of her.It was really sadning when everybody jumped off for not good reasons."for God sake please are you serious I just can't believe that for some stupid reason you got here before me". Honestly there is so much in life that you can do but you dont have to end it just because something happened.When she said "hey.don't do it please" she was telling them not to jump off and for some reason they did it anyway.This is commiting suicide. And back to my theory about all of those people being her maybe those were litterely her self and all her memories.Welp if you ever go through that there is this app that helps you prevent from that so hope this wuz helpful ;w;

This song may sound light and cool, but it has a dark meaning if you look in between the lines. This girl is trying to stop herself from committing suicide. It may sound like she is stopping others, but the last line at the end shows that all those people ARE her. She has all the characteristics of all those ‘people’. They are her.
“ Taking off my yellow cardigan
Watching my braids all come undone
This petite girl short as can be
Is gonna jump now and be free”
As you can see, all these characteristics are all the ‘people’ that she helped.

Even if someone saves the protagonist in the split second before the song ends (in the animations), YOU SHOULD NEVER COMMIT THIS ACT. There is a lot in your life you might miss, and your friends and family will miss you deeply. If you are thinking about doing it, talk with someone that you love, or call the suicide prevention hotline at 800-273-8255. Stay safe everyone!

I'm saying this out of personal experience but I'm not sure if it's the true meaning anyway I think that every time she tries to commit su!cide she convinces herself that she's being dramatic and that other people have it worse and leaves but one day she finally convinces herself to do it

i think it means she is all of those people she lost herself all those parts of her things that explain this is at the end of the song as she goes all the people that were highlighted when they were about to kill theme selves they took out the same thing as her take for example the girl with braided hair and as you see at the end she takes out her braids like the other girl it will make more sense if you really look into the song

I don't have any meaning, or anything related to the song, but if your here there is a good chance you sometimes think she made the right choice and you debate doing it yourself. I just want to say from experience that while it may seem like a good idea, as soon as you attempt it you will probably regret it and if you dont it won't solve anything. You matter! It may not seem like it but there are people who care about you, you just have to find them! Even if 99% of the world hates you, that's still 79,000,000 people who'd be there for you. My number is 413-977-0036 if you need to talk, and the suicide prevention hotline is 800-273-8255. Remember, you do matter, and you are perfect no matter what.

I think it's about a girl who is trying to stop herself from doing suicide, she had braids, she was short, she wore a yellow cardigan. All the people she met at the rooftop were all just imaginations of herself. In this lyrics she was describing what she was like on the rooftop. "There’s no one who can interfere No one to get in my way here, Taking off my yellow cardigan Watching my braids all come undone, This petite girl, short as can be Is gonna jump now and be free". Those were the things the singer said to describe the girls she met on the rooftop. She tried to stop herself by saying things she liked and she made herself turn away. When she said that she didn't care she didn't mean to yell to stop because she wanted to do it "I couldn’t care less either way." Then she said "This was an opportunity missed." Because she lost the opportunity of doing suicide. I feel like a part of herself didn't want to die yet while the other half does.

I think she is just trying to save herself and trying to think of a good reason to jump -suicide. I also think that she or he is the only person there and the other people that were dressed-up and in different outfits, I think that was just her and the person saying " Hey, don't do it please" was her rethinking it and thinking about her family and her sadness for life.

I feel that it is about girl that wants to die but she is telling herself that she doesn't have it so bad so she tries to find reasons to stay and in the end comes up empty handed. It kind of relates to how I feel a lot of the time

I agree with what everyone is saying about her wanting to commit suicide but did anyone think that she could have multiple personality disorder I mean it's fine to talk to yourself...I am not saying everyone who talks to themselves has that disorder, another thing is that I also thought she was a yandere because she started talking about a boy in the beginning of the song I think

"i just wanna stop the scars that grow, every time that i go home" and the fact that she said "taking off my yellow cardigan" "watching my braids all fall undone" "this petite girl short as can be, is gonna jump now and be free" i think she was hallucinating everyone else when in reality she was arguing with herself wondering if SHE should jump. all the people symbolize what she felt and she was tying to talk them out of jumping. and when she said "i cant let out all this pain" or something like that, she was probably thinking if anyone would care about her situation or emotions.

i'm sorry this doesn't make sense probably to you. my meaning doesn't make a lot of sense does it? but if your reading this... PLEASE DON'T JUMP IF YOU EVER THINK ABOUT IT!! even if you don't think anyone cares. tell someone how you feel and if you are getting abused at home, call the police or someone. call a family, anyone could care even if you think not, just please.. never jump, it hurts people to know that someone they care about has died, it effects them to, and imagine leaving them all alone? please. don't. jump.

Its a girl battling with her own emotions to put it simply. She talks about committing suicide a lot and she constantly shows herself creating excuses. Towards the end where she describes not being able to help, I believe its her way of showing how she feels trapped and helpless.

my meaning took me a while to think about. if you pay attention and the end were shes about to jump she discribes all the people shes "stoped" before. so it think all thouse times she stoped people its her stoping herself untill the last person she stoped i think thats were she gave in. but im not quite sure. it says every time she walks up to the roof and sees them but it may just be a metafore. but im horrible at not over thinking things. somy meaning may just be me over thinking the song. at the end of the day this song is one of my favorites and it tells a sad but true. i love this song it helps with people with life problems and it gives of such a good story. the thing i get from this song is, however many people you help your most likely not getting a thing back.

    I think that this song is about a girl who has various reasons to commit suicide, each person she meets has problems or issues causing them to want to kts at the end it says;
    "Taking off my yellow cardigan
Watching my braids all come undone
This petite girl, short as can be
Is gonna jump now and be free"
I personally think it means that all of the people she saw were versions of herself, each time running out of excuses for her to live. At the end everything becomes to much and she finally jumps.

This song is about a person who is trying to convince past versions of themself not to commit suicide, and I can prove this. At the end of the song it specifically says "Taking off MY yellow cardigan, watching MY braids all come undone, etc." Funny how the people they talked to had those features too. By the end, they basically just gave up trying to convince themself there is more in life. I mean, the whole song they were talking to past versions of themself, giving them reasons to live each time. And like I has said that by the end of the song, they didn't think they had a reason to live, so they jumped. Also please if you are considering suicide please go get help, by commiting suicide your just giving up and not fighting back. Plus, it's never worth it once you actually do it. There are people who care about you, why else would it even have its own hotline? But anyway, thats the end of my summary for the song "my r" or "my reflection" by rachie. I hope you all have an amazing day\night!

i personally feel that the girl singing the song in my r is actually just fighting herself to find a reason to not jump. At first she breaks up with someone but she tells herself a reason of something that hasn't happened to her yet. then she tells how she gets bullied for being short, which she tells herself she has a loving family. near the end she tries to stop herself from jumping because her family started to abuse her. it was hard but she was able to do it. at the end she gave up trying and ended jumping anyways.

I think this is about girl who wants to commit suicide ( as we all well know ) but whenever she tries to jump there is always someone in her way with a problem that she thinks is silly and she tells them reasons they shouldn’t do it. But I think that everybody she encountered was a different version of herself and her minor problems because they are briefly mentioned with “ And like that, there was someone everyday” the only reason we are told about the girl with braids, the petite girl, and the cardigan girl is because they are her major ones and her physical appearance. Once she got threw everyone of her problems, she found she had none left so she decided to do it with the line “ There’s no one here today, so I guess it’s time” and it is revealed that it’s actually herself with “ Taking off my yellow cardigan, watching my braids all come undone, this petite girl short as can be is gonna jump now and be free”. That’s what I think anyways. Pls never commit suicide, it’s never worth it. This song is so deep, and I almost cried when I first heard it ( and I’m not a cryer ) hope this helped
