Nina – Someday

I can really, totally relate to this song. "How come you never notice me as anyone but a friend?" is a question I'm silently asking to ___ for a long time now. "She better hold him tight. Give him all her love. Look in those beautiful eyes. And know she's lucky". As much as I want to say that I can't. I love him too much. Taylor Swift, you're my idol! You rock. And I really admire you and your songs!

When I was very young, like 8 years ago, I always heard my grand aunt, the sister of my grandmother, sing this song. My family is a lover of music and I was raised with so much music. I'm not exactly a music lover though, I'm a voracious reader and loves writing poetry and stories. This song inspired me to write a poem about love and roses. It's quite sweet and sad for me since the singer was deceived by a boy she loved and whom she thought loved her also. It's a sad song.

The song for me is very meaningful. It's like the singer is telling us that we don't own Nature and that we don't have the right to claim what's not ours. I like the line "how high will the Sycamore grow if you cut it down? Then you'll never know". It's pretty obvious and quite funny too. I like to sing the song over and over becuse for me, the melody itself is very beautiful. I also love the other songs from Pocahontas.

When I was younger I always asked my Mom to sing it for me. It's because before, when I was only 4-6, I always dreamed of becoming a mermaid. I really love the water. My favorite movie was The Little Mermaid. Now that I'm twelve I can sing it for myself but still ask my Mom to sing it for me! I really love it! It's about a mermaid who wishes to be a human but of course, that's impossible. (In real life that is.)
