Famous philosopher Descartes theorized that a person can only be sure of his or her own existence. He was made famous through his quote, "I think, therefore I am." Philosophers use phrases where the beginning is proof of the final statement. I think, therefore I am basically means that I know I exist because I think and have awareness of my own mind. I can only be sure of my existence based on his theory. I think Billie is saying everyone needs to worry about themselves instead of everyone else.
