Taylor Swift – Innocent lyrics
I guess you really did it this time
Left yourself in your war path
Lost your balance on a tight rope
Lost your mind trying to get it back

Wasn't it easier in your lunchbox days
Always a bigger bed to crawl into
Wasn't it beautiful when you believed in everything
And everybody believed in you

It's alright, just wait and see your string of lights are still bright to me
Oh, who you are is not where you've been
You're still an innocent, still an innocent

Did some things you can't speak of
But at night you'll live it all again
You wouldn't be shattered on the floor now
If only you had seen what you know now then

Wasn't it easy in your firefly catching days
Everything out of reach, someone bigger brought down to you
Wasn't it beautiful running wild till you fell asleep
Before the monsters caught up to you

It's alright just wait and see your string of lights are still bright to me
Oh, who you are is not where you've been
You're still an innocent

It's okay, life is a tough crowd
32 and still growing up now
Who you are is not what you did
You're still an innocent

Time turns flames to embers
You'll have new Septembers

Everyone of us has messed up too
Minds
change like the weather
I hope you remember.
Today is never too late to
Be brand new

Oh
, it's alright just wait and see your string of lights are still bright to me
Oh
, who you are is not where you've been
You're still an innocent
It's okay life is a tough crowd
32 and still growing up now
Who you are is not what you did
You're still an innocent
Still an innocent

Lost your balance on a tight rope
Oh, it's never too late to get it back.

This song is truly beautiful. Almost everyone can relate to this since it differs from most of Taylor's songs about boys and relationship. It's about what growing up does to you. As you get older, you get sucked into doing things that you would have never thought of doing when you were younger. A longing for the past where you used to run into your parents' bed after a nightmare or when you had that singing recital and it seemed as if everyone believed in you that you could do it. All of these precious childhood memories fade from our minds as we start evolving into adults. What Taylor says in this song is how it's never too late to feel innocent like you did when you were a kid. You just have find your way on to the right path again and change whatever kept you from believing that you aren't innocent anymore.

I feel the exact same way about Taylor Swift! I freakin' love her to death!(: She's my, I don't wanna say idol because that'd be like breaking a ten commandment, but you know what I mean! She's super duper pretty and her voice is amazing and everyone who says she can't sing needs some common sense knocked into them. She's also my favorite person in the whole wide world, my favorite singer, and I'm just a big-time Taylor fan!(: Someday I wanna grow up and name my kid Taylor Alison cuz I just love her so much.(: I memorize her whole album the day I get it and I sing nothing but her all the time(: Taylor Swift is just down right awesome and a great role model. And I don't see anything wrong with all her songs being about love, do you? I actually like it. Isn't that pretty much the whole purpose of a song? To write about love? Haha, anyways, I think I've written enough(:

You get older and start to miss what you had when you were younger. You had protection and someone was always there to teach you from right and wrong, or how to do something you didn't know how to do. They gave you courage and someone to stand by your side - always. Once you move out, they're not always by your side anymore. You have to move out and face the real world by yourself, a place where your parents can't hide you and decide to protect you from everything bad. Let it be mean people, or boys - that almost always comes with breakups - they're not there anymore.

It's about a boy who has been walking on the way of crime and he know he's not doing right bt he don't know what to do. Bt its only 32 now and the whole life is before him and now he has to choose whether he'll follow the same path or became innocent for the whole world as for the one girl{taylor}. And in the last line she's saying that if we got on the wrong way we can still be on right coz its never too late to get it back. She also says that how the boy, as every child, was innocent in his childhood.

This song is one of Taylor's most poetic songs. This song is so obviously written about her now infamous Grammy acceptance speech that was interrupted by Kanye West. This is pointed out with the lyric "32 and still growing up now" This is Taylor almost forgiving Kanye for the humiliation he brought upon her. She was very humiliated by the incident, and therefore rarely spoke out about it, and this is her way of getting out what she needed to say. She says that she understands Kanye made a mistake, and that he probably didn't intend to humiliate her, and that all of us are guilty of doing things we regret and that we cringe at while we are lying awake at night. This is Taylor forgiving Kanye and saying that maybe one day they can move past this, and be friends. Everyone makes mistakes, and tomorrow's a brand new day to start over. Thank you Taylor for one of my favorite songs to date.
