This song is about the abusive habits of a father. The first part was where they decided not to put up with it anymore. The father is the one in denial. And he's talking about the mother being dead and gone. When he says everyone he ever need always ends up leaving me alone. He's talking about his mother dieing. Drowning in her ashes. Kicking, Screaming is him getting hit. The part about the shrink is also part of most abuse victims. You also get clarification on the mother in the second part. Mother to take your s*t out on.
