Here's my take on the lyrics.
" i opened my eyes last night n saw you in the low light" meaning he dreamed of her last night.
And the lines that follows are metaphoric (or if not, trys 2 say what he was dreamin when he was with her) . It explains how these two people love each other but due 2 some reasons, can't be together.
Or are takin time off frm their relation but still can't get enough of 1 another.(' What will it take to make or break this hint of love,
we need time, only time).
