Meaning
This song is one of my absolute favorites, because first of all it has a really great melody and nowhere in the song does it specifically say that the way he feels for Sarah is a romantic feeling. I know a couple people that are my Sarahs, they are the best people I've ever met and they are the only thing keeping me sane and they probably don't even know it. And of course since they don't know that they're my "Sarah," sometimes it's difficult to understand that if they don't know how much they mean to me they can't reciprocate that feeling "Sarah, are you saving me?" and that can be a little frustrating. But overall the Sarahs of the world are what keeps everyone else sane, everybody deserves a Sarah to keep them sane and you should definitely hope that you are someone else's Sarah. Because even if you are totally oblivious, my Sarahs have saved my life on multiple occasions and to this day they're still "living in a world so unaware." Shoutout to my Sarahs - you don't need to know who you are but you know you're loved :).
