When my then girlfriend, Ashley, had finally left for the last time from our relationship, she left the house that we were living in together and left to stay with her mom in San Diego. So i was saying that looking back on that situation i should have went to her moms house to bring her back home instead of having too much pride and thinking she should just come home to work it out. The song is basically my apology for that relationship.

I was addicted to drugs (Heroin) during our relationship and she wanted me to get sober but i couldn't during that time. And i went on to state that its a lifetime struggle when it comes to substance abuse so i felt i should've been given more time to get sober and get clean.

I used to say "I swear to God if you had a twin
I used to tell my then Girlfriend, Ashley, who is now my Ex girlfriend, as we drove home to Palm Springs from her moms house in San Diego, "I swear to God if you had a Twin" because i would say that she is so beautiful that i would love it if i had her twice, or had two of her exactly. Then she would pretend to get mad like i was saying she wasn't enough, but her and I both kew it was just a silly compliment saying how lucky i was and how beautiful she was.
