They had just entered the abyss filled with "ugly carnivorous monsters" (after Spongebob claimed that the monsters got upset and left) and befriended the monsters by generally acting stupid and making the monsters like them. And so, the monsters joined their duet until Spongebob got excited and claimed that they got past everything including the ugly monsters, and after they left he claimed "Not you guys! You guys are awesome!"
