It means: he lost the girl he loves and feels low without her so he goes back to all of the places they had memories together hoping she's there. But she found someone else to replace him since he messed up, he can't think without her in his life and he realizes he should have tied the knot. He hopes that she will go back to him although he wasn't the best man to her.

In my perspective this is about him making a mistake that he wishes he could take back (in his case he cheated on his gf). Hes saying that hes sorry for what he did and all he wants is her because no other girl in the world can compare to her. That is true love because no matter what girl he's with, he always just wants her in the end, but she is gone cuz of what he did.
