Melanie Martinez – Class Fight lyrics
[Verse 1]
It was the middle of class and the teacher wasn’t lookin’
Kelly  had a fat ass and trouble was cookin’
She  had a boy wrapped around her finger tight
I fell in love with him, but he wasn’t in my light
The teacher gave me notes to go out and give Kelly
She  was kissin’ Brandon, I got jelly
I  wanted to be in her shoes for one day
I just waited 'til recess to make her pay

[Chorus]
Mommy,  why do I feel sad?
Should I give him away or feel this bad?
"No, no, no, don't you choke"
Daddy chimed in, "go for the
throat"
For  the throat, for, for the throat
Daddy chimed in, "go for the throat"
For the throat, for, for the throat
Daddy chimed in, “go for the throat”
For the throat, for, for the throat
Daddy chimed in, “go for the throat”
For the throat, for, for the throat
Daddy chimed in, “go for the throat”
(Class fight)
For the throat, for, for the throat
Daddy chimed in, “go for the throat”
For the throat, for, for the throat
Daddy chimed in, “go for the throat”
(Class fight)

[Verse 2]
Her face was fucked up and my hands were bloody
We were in the playground, things are getting muddy
The teacher broke us up after I broke her
And my one true love called me "a monster"

[Chorus]
Mommy, why do I feel sad?
Should I give him away or feel this bad?
"No, no, no, don't you choke"
Daddy chimed in, "go for the throat"
For the throat, for, for the throat
Daddy chimed in, "go for the throat"
For the throat, for, for the throat
Daddy chimed in, “go for the throat”
For the throat, for, for the throat
Daddy chimed in, “go for the throat”
For the throat, for, for the throat
Daddy chimed in, “go for the throat”
(Class fight)
For the throat, for, for the throat
Daddy chimed in, “go for the throat”
For the throat, for, for the throat
Daddy chimed in, “go for the throat”
(Class fight)

This is about Melanie Martinez (aka Crybaby) being in a relationship that’s one sided, whilst the other guy (Brandon if you watched K-12) is actually in another relationship. “Mommy why should I feel sad” is Melanie saying why is it on her. In the movie K-12 the song meaning is very clear, but for those who haven’t watched it or can’t remember Kelly (the other girl Brandon likes) challenges Crybaby to a fight for a reason I can’t remember but Crybaby wins. Basically Crybaby wants Brandon and Kelly wants Brandon too. In the movie Kelly confronts Brandon sitting with Crybaby. Brandon and Angelita (Crybaby’s friend) run away, when Kelly comes, armed for some reason. She starts fight Crybaby and Crybaby summons her powers and wins.
So, to cut that shorter, it’s about a one sided relationship, where the person who cares tries to win the other one over. Hope this helps!
