Maroon 5 – Payphone lyrics
I'm at a payphone trying to call home
All of my change I spent on you
Where have the times gone?
Baby it's all wrong
Where are the plans we made for two
?

No, I, I know it's hard to remember
The people we used to be
It's even harder to picture
That you're not here next to me
You say it's too late to make it
But is it too late to try?
And in our time that you wasted
All of our bridges burned down

Youve wasted my life
You turned out the lights
Now I'm paralyzed
Still stuck in that time when we called it love
But even the sun sets in paradise

I'm at a pay phone trying to call home
All of my change I spent on you
Where have the times gone?
Baby it's all wrong
Where are the plans we made for two?

If happy ever after did exist
I would still be holding you like this
All those fairytales are full of shit

One more fuckin' love song I'll be sick

You turn your back on tomorrow
'Cause you forgot yesterday
I gave you my love to borrow
But you just gave it away

You can't expect me to be fine
I don't expect you to care
I know I've said it before
But all of our bridges burned down

I've wasted my nights
You turned out the lights
Now I'm paralyzed
Still stuck in that time when we called it love
But even the Sun sets in paradise

I'm at a payphone trying to call home
All of my change I spent on you
Where have the times gone?
Baby it's all wrong
Where are the plans we made for two?

If happy ever after did exist
I would still be holding you like this
And all those fairytales are full of shit
One more fuckin' love song I'll be sick

Now I'm at a payphone

[Wiz Khalifa]
Man, fuck that shit!
I'll be out spending all this money while you're sittin' round
Wondering why it wasn't you who came up from nothing
Made it from the botton
Now when you see me I'm stuning

And all of my cars start with a push of a button
Telling me I changed since I blew up or whatever you call it
Switched the number to my phone
So you never could call it
Don't need my name, on my shirt
You can tell it I'm ballin'

Swish, what a shame coulda got picked
Had a really good game but you missed your last shot
So you talk about who you see at the top
Or what you could've saw
But sad to say it's over for her
Phantom roll up valet open doors
Wish I'd go away, got what you was looking for
Now it's me who they want
So you can go take that little piece of shit with you

I'm at a payphone trying to call home
All of my change I spent on you
Where have the times gone?
Baby it's all wrong
Where are the plans we made for two?

If happy ever after did exist
I would still be holding you like this
And all those fairytales are full of shit
One more fuckin' love song I'll be sick

I'm at a payphone!

This song is trying to convey the message that no matter how hard he tried to make this relationship work, it failed because his girl didn't care about him. He's at a payphone trying to remember the good times he had in the relationship but as it has gotten worse and worse he gets increasingly frustrated. He can never reach her on the payphone because he can't remember the good times, only the bad.
Despite being miserable, he can't seem to end the relationship because he still loves her in little ways and he's afraid of being alone.
He wishes to be back in the past when the relationship was good and he was happy, but he knows this will never happen.

Two people were completely in love and then it fell apart. Someone lost thier faith and the other doesn't understand whats happening. They reliezed that its not ment to be anymore and so much now has been wasted. They're in shock of whats happening. Now they want to go back to the place where they can feel better again. The true love in fairytales isn't realality. If there was a happy ever after, the two people would still be in love. The lover is sick of talk of true love and noe hes trying to make a call back home where he's missed out because of love. And you can't always have it perfectly.

I just recently broke up with my boyfriend. I initiated it but I just couldn't let him go. I thought everything would go back the way it was before when I tried to win him back but it only left me scarred and hurt because he doesn't want me anymore. So you see, its something the girl would feel in the song and honestly I learned it the hardway that you can't expect everything to turn out the way you want it to be.

I was married for 24 yrs, and my ex may as well have written that song. He wrote the lyrics to me in a letter tonight. I think that it's a very sad guy who is realizing too late the mistakes he made and he is disparate to go back and change things. Now he thinks he has changed for the better, but it's too late. The rap is his coping. He wants to believe he is better off without her, but his heart is broken. So is mine!

The guy is trying to get back his old life (home). He is trying hard, he is spending every energy to find his old life. But he has wasted his chances and now he is paralysied but even paradise seems to ignore his effort. Wiz is here like the bad guy, he reminds him that he came nothing to something. He declare that he is at the very top he his under mind control. But because of him wiz too is in struggle so he says in anger.

This is a song within a song. Wiz is responding to adam's voice. It's like when you talk to someone about how bad your day went and then they take over the conversation and start putting in their two cents about how much worse their day was. You can tell it's two voices because adam's voice shows he still cared about his old flame. Yet the lyrics for wiz show that he is full of rancor.

In my opinion, this song is about a boy who is sick of his girlfriend and is fed up with love. He spent all his money on her and then she either ditched him or they had a fight, so the boy had no way to get home so he had to use a payphone to call home. Basically, he's sick of love and wants to be his own person and spend his money on what he wants, since she probably didn't pay for anything!

In my opinion payphone is about a guy who is in love with a girl but for some circumstances all their love went down and they still love each other but things aren't the same anymore:/ and he is trying to go back at that time when everything was ok, when everything seem to be a fairytale but it's difficult for both of them because even though they love each other nothing will be the same anymore, but if they love each other they will be together again. That's exactly what's happening to me, sad but true :(

The meaning of the song to me means a guy would do anything for his girlfriend even though she couldn't careless about him then something happened to him so he went to the nearest payphone because his phone was dead so he called her lots of times wasting all of his change when he called her the last time on his last dime she finally answered even after all the bad things happened in their relationship he will love her no matter what.

Most of the time he's talking about the fact that he wishes everything could have worked out because the girl meant a lot to him. He also talks about how if fairytales were real, they would still be together, but he knows all good things end at some point. Then when wiz khalifa comes in he's practically saying the whole time "what's with you? Yeah, you messed up, but that doesn't mean you should grieve over the fact that you did. You did amazing the whole way through until the very end when you screwed up. "

The singer, adam levine is crushed and wants the fairy tell ending, but knows better, the other person in the relationship could care less. He still loves the girl and always remembers all the dreams they once shared. Meanwhile, the girl has decided to look at tomorrow instead of being stuck in yesterday: going separate way. Adam blames the girl for what happened. In his opinion, it is what she did and not what he did that has led their relationship to separation. Therefore, along with grieve, he is furious.

I think it's about a guy who only recently awakened to the fact that he and his (ex)girlfriend's love is no longer there since he tried to connect to her, spending all he's got to do so, but failing in the end. Only then has he realized that things don't always go as you want and that fairy tales are complete lies because of their happy endings, which is unnatainable in any way.

This song is about. A guy wanting to reconnect with someone he used to love/have good times with. He runs off with the girl who he loves in the video, and leaves her in a safe place; while escaping from the police who are chasing him. He finally escapes and finds a payphone. He calls her and tells her that they need to be together; "where have the times gone baby... Where are the plans we made for two. "

In the music video, first it shows adam levine in a car crash, and calling someone, then it shows what happened before the crash. He's working in an office (maybe a bank), then all of a sudden a whole bunch of masked people come running in waving their weapons everywhere and stealing items, making people sit on the ground with their arms over their head. Adam sees a girl (maybe the one he loves) struggling and gives her a signal to take her shoes off. Adam takes a weapon from a robber who is walking past him and waves it around, threatening to shoot. He then makes off with the girl at the first given moment. When he runs out of the bank, he puts the weapon down, but a police officer notices him and starts running after adam and the girl, thinking they are a threat. Adam leaves the girl in a safe place and takes a car from an unsuspecting pedestrian and makes off with it. There are clips of adam singing into the payphone as the video goes along. Adam escapes the police and makes it to a deserted place(maybe a parking lot), where wiz khalifa is rapping, and sees a payphone and calls.

I can really relate to this, I got broken up with 2 months ago and I felt alone because all my best friends really didn't help me and didn't even notice me for a month, except for one friend that I haven't been so close to in my life. She helped me get through and I've healed and I'm over it. But "he" doesn't think I'm over it and is being a player as usual.

According to the official video on YouTube, these are the correct lyrics:.
    1. All of my change I spent on you.
    2. Where have the times gone, baby it's all wrong.
    3. Where are the plans we made for two?
    4. And in that time that you wasted, all of our bridges burned down.
    5. Still stuck in that time, when we called it love, but even the sun sets in paradise.
    6. You can't expect me to be fine, I don't expect you to care.
    7. I know I've said it before, but all of our bridges burned down.
    Man f*k that sh*t
I'll be out spending this money while you're sitting round wondering why it wasn't you came out from nothing.
Made it from the bottom now when you see me I'm stunning,.

In the first verse he says "im at a payphone trying to call home, all of my change i spent on you" he's say he's trying to find himself. He's saying he has changed. "change i spent on you," meaning he changed for her. "trying to call home," he's insinuating that he's lost without her. By plainly saying that he can't call home because he spent all of his change on her is a very poetic, wonderfully creative way of saying this. I absolutely love this song, not necessarily for its sound but it's poetic depth. I could spend hours interpreting his lyrics but I only have 5 mins.

My meaning to this is that people chase after others way too much its okay to be a dream chaser but when it comes to people you can wiat a whole lifetime for that person to respond and if you get too consumed in that person your life passes you by and things can happen so quickly you don't realize what your doing or when somethings being done to you be persistent and know who your frineds are cause in the end you should be able to let them come to you and be able to rely on them not the other way around 100%.

It's a really good regretful song about a relationship that meant a lot to the singer. I guess it's sort of a "i miss you, but i sort of hate you for what you did to me" song. I relate really well to this song. The lyrics are great like when he says, you can’ t expect me to be fine, I don’ t expect you to care. "
