Alec Benjamin – Alamo lyrics
[Verse 1]
Please give me a reason to believe all the lies
'Cause my teachers and the media are ghouls in disguise
Abusing their authority to proselytize
But nothing they report to me could change my mind
I need a vacation from the way things have been
Because I’m growing impatient, yeah, it’s boiling my skin
Had enough manipulation, can you just let me live?
Mmm, live my life

[Chorus]
I’m not gonna give in if I have to fight
Then I’m willing to give my life, rather die
Than lay down on my back, got no white flag to throw
This is my Alamo, this, this is my Alamo

[Verse 2]
Please give me a reason to give up on myself
You can tell me that it’s treason, this is stand and rebel
I won’t pledge you my allegiance, I’ll just bid you farewell
And goodbye

[Chorus]
I’m not gonna give in if I have to fight
Then I’m willing to give my life, rather die
Than lay down on my back, got no white flag to throw
This is my Alamo, this, this is my Alamo

[Bridge]
I know that on the surface it might seem like I’m just fine
But I can’t eat, I barely sleep, sometimes I wanna run and hide
Feel like I’m dying in this cage
My soul is trapped, I feel confined
And I just wish they’d let me out, so I could finally live my life

I know that on the surface it might seem like I’m just fine
But I can’t eat, I barely sleep, sometimes I wanna run and hide
Feel like I’m dying in this cage
My soul is trapped, I feel confined
And I just wish they’d let me out, so I could finally live my life

[Breakdown]
I’m not gonna give in if I have to fight
Then I’m willing to give my life, rather die
Than lay down on my back, got no white flag to throw

[Chorus]
I’m not gonna give in if I have to fight
Then I’m willing to give my life, rather die
Than lay down on my back, got no white flag to throw
This is my Alamo, this, this is my Alamo

i think alamo is about how no matter how many people say he's wrong and how stressed he gets he's not going to stop defending his belief. hence the name alamo. to those of you who don't know, the alamo was a par of the texas revolution and a spanish man tried to take over them, but the people there defended with their lives for their freedom.

I mean I'm probably wrong but this links to a poem I know. Called Emigrée (french for emigrent) where a girl left her (now war run) country when she was young and all she remembers is the beautiful country she grew up in and all she hears now is how horrible it is but no matter what she hears she cant/ doesnt want to get rid of the memories from her childhood. Read poem for better understanding.
